I got this message about DFW - Coffee & Cars January 7.
My daughter came to me a few months ago and said that she wanted to know if Cars and Coffee could raise money to help a friend of hers that is in need. His name is Blake and he suffers from Friedreich's Ataxia. Friedreich's ataxia is an inherited disease that damages your nervous system. The damage affects your spinal cord and the nerves that control muscle movement in your arms and legs. Symptoms usually begin between the ages of 5 and 15. The main symptom is ataxia, which means trouble coordinating movements.
Blake will be in attendance on January 7th...He was not expected to live past the age of 10, recently he celebrated his 12th birthday. Come out and enjoy the great cars and the hot coffee...and give to the cause and help out a good kid.
Look, I have a big parking lot and I invite a bunch of great people to come show their cars once a month...It's everyone who donates to the different causes that truly deserve the credit---and all of the volunteers that dedicate themselves to this event...my employees do put their hearts into the event as well.
Let's give thanks and help those that need our help. Right?
And let's keep the shine on our cars and continue our passion for beautiful art---rolling art.
Thanks,
Eric Maas

I plan to be there and will grab breakfast if any one wants to join me.
Need to be in the lot by 7:30am at the latest. 7am would be better. 1st ones there can save several spaces, but not for long. Breakfast before would be difficult. Better to bring something (donuts, kolaches). People start leaving by 9:30-10am but late-comers stay past 11am. Expect 800-1000 cars if the weather's good.
I plan to arrive Coffee & Cars between 7:15 - 7:30 Saturday. I will save spaces if I know how many plan to come. I will head over the Local Dinner (Dinerman's Beltline & I-635 location) around 9:00.
So, looking out the diner window about 10 am and this black R comes driving up with top down and someone driving that looking like a mummy... it was Bob, looking for HOT food after the Coffee & Cars in Plano... top down in Dallas and 40 degree weather... now that man enjoys his ride. Missed the rest of you, but I understand.... next time.

Sorry, but I had to get a big 'ol pot roast in the bucket.
Personally i think Bob is a few shy of a full load to be driving down the highway with the top down as cold as it was this morning.
