If you haven't heard, and you are interested, the GM plant is offering
free tours this week. You'll get to ride around the plant in a tram...kinda like Disney World, only not near as fun.

They're even allowing photographs. At this point, the whole process is kinda boring to me, but if you haven't seen it before, it's actually really cool. Great for the kids (I think the youngest allowed is 7).
If you come during day shift, you may even see me slaving away, building some Tahoes, Yukons, Suburbans and Escalades. And don't worry, I don't think I'm allowed to throw anything at you.

But make sure you yell if you see me. They usually stop the tram by the frame picker (where it places them on the line). I'll be just ahead to your right as you start up again (the tram's right, that is. Some of you may be facing backwards

).
They also have a bunch of vehicles on display, and some to test drive around the parking lot. As I was leaving today, it looked like they had a vette, camaro, and some others for driving.
Had I known the details earlier, I would have set up a get together. Everyone there probably would have got a kick out of seeing a bunch of SSRs drive up. Oops!
Tours are from 11:30-3:30 and 5:45-8:00. The displays are open from 11:00 'til 8:00. Hurry...they're only doing it until Thursday.
