Greater Houston Area - SSR Community
Hey Folks,
Interested in having a local ‘get together’ in the Houston Area?
I’m fairly new to the SSR scene, having only acquired Black Beauty last Fall. However, I am President of a Houston Area car club, (Houston Area Club Grand Prix). It is a Local Chapter of the National Club Grand Prix Car Club. I have been hosting regular, MOD-Days at my home in The Woodlands, TX for several years, now. Our Mod-days consist of eating BBQ, telling lies, and getting greasy. It’s everything from simple Preventative Maintenance, to Cam installs, Blower/Turbo installs, to the occasional engine swaps, and (everything in between). Now that I have accepted the stewardship of an ’05 SSR, I’m hoping to broaden my horizons in this area. I’ll admit that at this point my knowledge in this area is limited. So, I’m hoping to rectify that by tapping into the greater Houston SSR Community.
Is there enough interest in having an SSR ‘get together’ in the local Houston area? I’m happy to host. My Garage and tools are always open.
I’m looking for an opportunity to me some good ‘ole folks, with the same shared common interest, and most importantly to LEARN.
If you are interested, please shoot me an e-mail or PM with your contact information.
Best Regards,
/Waldo-Jr
I'll be hosting a Mod-Day,(Tech Session) in The Woodlands, TX on Saturday, April 16th. I'll be smokin' a Brisket, too.
You folks are welcome to stop by. I'll probably be installing a set of Eibachs, and fat sway bars.
The Garage will open at 9:00am, and will close at dark.

Reposted from an earlier posting:
"Okay, I confess, I've been sluffing off myself, but have been busy with the Oldsmobile Club activities. Last weekend we went on a "Poker Run" cruise to Fayetteville, a quiant little town west of Houston, stopping in Bellville, at the famous "Newman's Bakery", Nelsonville, Industry, and coming finally to Fayetteville, and along the way there are rolling hills and there were no Bluebonnets yet, but now there would be, so if anyone is interested in doing that cruise, I would be willing to put something together, initial starting point, and, if you want to do a "Poker Run", I'll do that also. If you have not done the Poker Run before, each hand costs $10 and you start off at a designated starting point and along the cruise you draw a card until you have five and the person with the best hand wins the pot."
Anybody interested can PM me and let's see what happens.
We will come. The only thing I have to do is install Mr. OP's 4 pin switch for towing. Just our of curiosity, will we be able to change motor oil and filter??

Glad you can make it.
I have plenty of tools, jacks, and stands for all.
Just about anything goes, as far as under the hood.
There will be plenty of others doing the same.

My apolgies. I had purchased my oil, oil filter, air filter and oil pan. Then loaded OP's flat pin adapter and my tool kit and was on my way. I had gotten off I-45, down Woodland Falls, turned right onto Kuykendaul when my wife called. We, after a year, have our house in escrow and went through inspection. We had the trailer and golf cart for sale so that we would not need to drive two cars to California and a buyer showed up. I had to go home and transact the deal. When Mary got her grips on me, it was too late. We fulfilled a litany of items. I still need to change the oil and missed the group. Sorry. I had called the number but either I dialed it wrong or it belonged to someone else.
