The most out of GMPP warranty

The input sprag when out on my 06 a couple of weeks ago. After a week at the local GM dealer and $99 later the dealer informed me that GMPP adjuster agreed with the original diagnosis - blown input sprag. BUT, the adjuster wanted to disassemble the transmission to confirm. 2nd-BUT if disassemble indicated abuse. I would be on the hook for the tear-down ~$1,200 & ~ $2,200 rebuild. If diassemble indicated warranty work, GMPP would pay for tear-down, rebuild or rebuilt transmission with original OEM GM parts. Neither case sound great. So, I called GMPP and asked if I could have someone other that a GM dealer perform warranty tear-down & rebuild. The answer - YES. So, I called Greg Ducato - Phoenix Transmission. The rest is history. Drove the SSR to Greg's via manual shifting automatic transmission late Tuesday. Wednesday morning trans was out, disassembled, and diagnosis confirmed blown input sprag. Adjuster came out approved warranty. Greg worked his magic and Friday morning the SSR was ready and much better than new with a 3 yr warranty. The bill was covered by GMPP. I picked it up early Saturday and confirmed the transmission upgrades. Your belching smoke acceleration to complement the Smokn' Asphalt color. PERMGRIN Greg does know magic to get the chunk of steel to move fast. So, if you have GMPP extended warranty transmission work - GO SEE GREG!!!!

That is surprising & very good news! And of course, as the stack of "well done" continues to grow to legendary status, way to go Greg

That's good news. I hear a lot of positive news about Greg, I'm just wondering when he's going to get his mobile service going so I can have him work on mine too

You could have your local shop pull your transmission and ship it to Greg.
