My wife and I just purchased a 2005 SSR. The truck is a "high milage SSR with 42k on the ODO but it has a superb car fax and servce records. This truck is in outstanding shape. I have looked at SSRs that had 17k on them and were not as clean as this one. It goes to show you that how you take care of your car is more important than how little you enjoy it.
We traded in our 2000 Dodge Viper RT/10 for it. And I dont regret it for one monent. ( It does help that I have a pristine 2006 C6 Sunset Metalic Orange Corvette Z06 sharing the garage with the SSR) We purchased the SSR from Northwest Fwy Hyundai. We worked a Fair deal for both of us and the wife and I drove off Happy. I just couldnt find a SSR from a private seller that was this clean.
Now If I can just convince her that we should trade her Mini Cooper S for a Camaro SS. I told her it has another S on the name so it must be better! I just wanted to say hello to everyone here in Texas and find out if there are any Houston area SSR owners groups/clubs/ect...

Gordon, we have quite a few SSR owners that get together, but no formal club per say. Our next outing is a run to Galveston, across the ferry to Boliver and then up to Winnie for their Trade Days. Feel free to join in.

Gordon.
Welcome, enjoy, and FYI, 42k is not high mileage for a 5 yr. old SSR...Hard to stay out of it...you'll find out for yourself.
Welcome to the SSR addiction. What color is your new ride? A month ago I purchased a Slingshot Yellow 2005 with 73,800 miles on it but looked like it had 10,000. Just good paint jobs and a lot of TLC I suspect. You might find yourself wanting to wash your "new baby" often...enjoy. SpicewoodGlenn.

Congrats Gordon!
Your SSR last spent time in Kannapolis, NC, if interested.
The previous owner didn't drive it too long or much it
seems as they bought it 4/09 at best guess 41k as she
was reported with 41.5k in 9/09.

I have a quick question, how reliable are the power tops. I have seen a few threads on tops that cant be fixed. Is this rare? Are there custom shops that can fix the tops when there arrnt original parts?
