Yes, it only gets driven 2 miles or so in town sometimes, so it is safe for now. I cannot trust it for any long distance. I should have it repaired by that time, I hope. The Chevy service center is just going to put another of the same fans in, so I just have this same problem in another 20K miles, I guess :-)
I had the same problem. My OEM fan went out and thanks to Mike's Aux fan I made it for a few days until the dealership could replace the fan. Money well spent for Mike's fan. I haven't had any trouble with the new fan.
Take my name off the list for the 5/17 tech session. I will not be well enough to drive. Mary is in the middle of preparing for a art show and can't break away. Our daughter in-law's birthday is that weekend so my son can't break away to drive me. I'll just hafta catch you some other time. I am going to try an install Mike's Aux fan and tranny cooler myself. I am pretty sure it can be done. Most all requires laying on my back.
Sorry.

Im sorry that you can't make it. I was looking forward to meeting you. Hopefully another time.

I got the fan replaced today, and it is nice to be able to drive long distances if I want to :-) It seems to be consistantly at round 200 degrees now.
I got the fan replaced at James Wood in Denton, Texas. I asked the guy if they got a lot of SSR's in there and he said, "No." About 20 minutes later someone pulled up in their yellow SSR. I did not get a chance to talk to the owner, but I saw that SSR and another Yellow in Lewisville going through a McDonald's drive through. Was anyone here driving the SSRs?
wasn't me, Don't do McDonalds I haven't been driving mine this week way to busy preparing for Teachers Apprection Week next week! Glad you got it fixed!
My SSR: '05 Concept Truck, powered by Heavy Duty rubberbands, and a really BIG WINDUP KEY!
What are the possibilities of installing a "Walbro Fuel Pump Upgrade " in my SSR, on this day? Its just a question and not a must have... I realize there are others that have some more prudent issues to deal with.

I would say to bring it along and we will try and work it in. If you can, don't bring it with a full fuel tank.

I knew it wasn't you because it did not have the custom paint on the front and back The two I saw were just standard yellow SSRs (still always nice to see other SSRs around). My little town of 1,500 or so now has at least three SSRs (one black, one yellow, and my silver and purple). We are working on having the most SSRs in a city on a percentage basis
My SSR: '03 NASCAR Pace SSR #303; '06 Silver over Black 6 speed #23157.
I'll be there, just not early as I have my daughters last soccer game of the year until 9:00 that morning. Would still be happy to bring along some Krispy Cremes but I probably won't make out to the get-together until about 11:00 a.m. Nothing really to do on my trucks, so I'll be there to help as needed and chew the fat with folks!
My SSR: #1 - '06 Pacific Blue 3SS, Chrome, FPR #23962 - Kooks, Corsa and Supercharged - #2 Jim G's Super R!

It just occurred to me...I have the hood struts for the that I have to install. So I'm going to make sure I'm there. Screw the cable guy!
If anyone was thinking about getting the struts for an '03 or '04, Steve, from LST gave me the template for the install, and a modified drill bit, so I don't drill through the hood...I'll have them there. I just got off the phone with him, and he said it's OK if I hold on to them until then.

I need to touch up some paint on my calipers. I will be bringing red and blue if anyone would like to paint theirs I have plenty to share
Would regular car paint work on the calipers? I have a pint or so of paint from my paint job recently that I have nothing to use it on and that sounds like a perfect idea.
