San Antonio - what not to miss
Heading to San Antonio this week, the last time I was in the area I was at Lackland AFB getting training
Just wondering what to see or do that is not on the "normal" tourist list. Staying in the downtown area at a La Quinta. Will be there for a few days with the wife and our dog Peanut while I turn 50

Right downtown at the farmers market, accross the street from where you are staying I think, is one of my favorite mexican food restaraunts. It's called La Margarita, I highly recommend it.

Is the Botanical gardens the same place where the Japanese garden is? I think the wife wanted to stop there.

I was talking to Carl Blueroadster06 a little while ago and he's craving Sea food. We might be able to put a eat & greet together for Friday or Saturday night. There's 3 places in mind 2 close to SA. Bayseas is at 1420 Schertz Pkwy 210-566-7808 and the other is at Louie Ledeaux Cajun 8235 Agora Pkwy STE 115 Selma Closer to me and Carl is one in Seguin that is good Baytown Seafood 1332 E. Court St.
PM if interested.

Thanks
The japanese gardens are at the zoo, little bit of a drive from downtown, but not too bad...last time I was there every pond was drained and it was all under construction so call first to see if the gardens are open.

Might be a better idea to choose a place closer to downtown so he won't have to drive so far. Do you know of any seafood places downtown? What day was decided?

Thanks for the thought Mikey. The one in Schertz Pkwy doesn't look too far. I drove 16 hours in a day to get here so I don't think another 20 minutes or so will be too bad But then again I am not aware of the traffic here on Friday or Saturday. Hope it is nothing like Houston, man, that took forever!!!!!
If the majority lives out that way I am fine, or if something else pops up that isn't too far I am fine with that as well. Of course downtown would be very close but I would rather go out of the way instead of making everyone else do it. Would a lunch on Saturday be better for traffic and travel instead of dinner? We are open either way and appreciate the offer to meet.
