My heated seat has been out for a month. Dealer says parts are on back order. Does anyone know if the SSR's heated seat components are unique to the SSR or do all GM heated seats share the same components?

Interesting, ssr3
Just being discussed on another thread . . . are you seat belts fastened?

THE SEAT HEATERS ONLY FIT 03-06 SSR'S. BUT YOUR DEALER NEED'S TO PUT IN A SPAC CASE ON THEM, AS THERE ARE 7 DEALERS IN THE US THAT SHOW THEM IN STOCK. THEY MAY BE FOR OTHER CUSTOMERS. BUT YOU DONT KNOW UNTIL YOU ASK. TALK TO YOUR DEALER.......
thanks for all the infor. I tried with & without seat belt and still no heat.
RSSRTOY, I have left a message for my Service advisor about the SPAC request. I wait for some response.

The butt warmer will work with out the seat belt being worn. The passenger seat will not heat, unless someone is sitting in that seat. The drivers seat will heat without anyone in the seat.

That kinda makes sense, flynSS/R
Not much need for an "occupied" switch for the driver's seat but I can understand the need for the passenger seat.

The Katzkin seat cover installers put a new heater in my driver's seat. When I got the new covers we discovered it had shorted out. Just about any seat heater should work but they might have to modify the on/off switch. They put a round switch in mine but had a bezel that made it look factory.
Search Katzkin, then look for a local dealer/installer. They should be able to help.

This is a pretty common issue. The plastic brace inside the corner of the seat base cracks due to sliding in and out of the truck. This allows the plastic that you see on the outside to slide more than it should when you get in and out of the vehicle and will trip the switch to the "on" position. You can see this happen, turn the switch off and slowly get in and out of the vehicle or just put some weight in the corner, you should see it will bow just enough to turn it back on.
Some here have disconnected the switch at the connector under the seat and others have slightly enlarged the opening so that it doesn't rub the switch. Not sure if it is repairable with epoxy or something like that. Chances are that if the current owner broke the seat area due to the way they get in and out it will liekly break again. Mine is bad as well and I just disconnected it from under the seat.
