Yes, I already have over that now since we had to drive up and get it.

Melvin and I are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Are we meeting somewhere prior to this event? Is there something going on that evening, this will determine if I need a hotel or not for Saturday night.
What time do we need to be at the raceway? This will determine whether I come up Saturday morning or Friday night.
Thanks

The race track does not open for these events till around 5pm Saturday., We had talked about going a little later this time so it would not be so hot. Last time Wildcat and Woohoo made some plans for eating and Saturday afternoon for all of us. Wildcat is at nationals right now but had talked about during some Grand Prix and maybe Putt-Putt Saturday afternoon before racing. Last time we all meet Friday night in Grapevine for dinner and visiting as well as lunch on Saturday.
So we are waiting to see what all they want to do.

Hey OP, it is really worth making a weekend of it if you are able. We had so much fun last time. I'm sure you will enjoy yourselves. Also, you will get to see the paintjob on the "Batmobile". I hope yall are able to stay a while.

Grapefest is on in Grapevine that weekend. They close Main St. have wine tasting, a grape stomp, entertainment (bands, etc.) and a rare Italian car show (you know, like a Fiat that actually runs ). See the website for more details. http://www.grapevinetexasusa.com/grapefest/

Wow! You are correct! We were under the impression it was a week earlier. I will attend the Texas Moter Speedway Event and sacrifice the Grapeland Event. Thanks for the heads up on that one.

I am so confused! Which one is which? Are there two separate events about grapes? When this is over, I'm gonna need to drink from the grapes!

I think I have it now, Grapevine Grape fest is on Sept. 8 & 9.
Grapeland Grape fest is Oct. 15th.

I should have stayed in college.

TMS Laps for Charity II

Bumping this back to the first post of this thread. This is just two weeks away and just reminding everyone again.
Looking for more SSR fanatics to join us at the track. We all had a great time last May and Wildcat and Woohoo arranged neat eating places and activities for us to do.
I am sure they will host us all again.

We are just two weeks away from the Laps for Charity event at Texas Motor Speedway. I just wanted to plant a seed here for anyone who is still undecided if they will be going. We expect to have a good group out there and since we have done this before, we are now seasoned veterans. Let the good times roll!!!!

Wildcat--Thanks for coming up with ideas for all of us to do.

Whatever you decide will be fine with us. We are staying in Grapevine at the Comfort Suites and will arrive Friday afternoon.

Soounds like we have a plan. I may not be able to make all the festivities, but will try. Still not feeling too good, but just taking it one day at a time. Looks like we will have a good turnout.
