My SSR: Smokin' Asphalt w/Black Running Boards. The "Batmobile"
Texas Motor Speedway Laps for Charity
On May 8th, 2010, there is another charity event at the Texas Motor Speedway. You can actually drive your own vehicle on the racetrack at approx. 85 mph. The cost is $30.00 for three laps. I know we have done this before, but since there are so many new Fanatics and some of us have new vehicles, why not do it again? I am going to bring the new "Batmobile" up there for this event. Let me know if anyone else is interested. Let's make an event out of this !!!
Our scheduled track time is 6:30 PM. This means that we must be in Lane N at 6:00pM.

Anytime we can do something for charity and enjoy our cars, trucks and bikes at the same time, it's a great event
.....wish we were not so far away.
Have fun!!
they can take a picture of your truck in the winners circle and you are not just limited to the 3Laps, trust me you will want to do it again
Put me on the list John !!! maybe I will take the husband in to bringing his vette!!!
we can set up a place to meet and eat
John? are you going to set up a time for the laps??

I'm not good at this stuff, can anyone in the Dallas area set up something?
I know we have driven in the daytime and at nightime under the lights. Either is fine with me, but nightime was pretty cool and the temps weren't so warm.
I think there was a decent hotel close to the track also.

I agree! Us Michiganders should keep our eye on Michigan International Speedway for a similar type of event... anyone got any connections at MIS?
My SSR: WE have an Aqua Blur 05 and a Redline Red 05
Count me in! If you've never done this it's a blast! I did this once with a motorcycle group. We had to stay behind the pace car but after a couple of laps the pace car pulled off and motioned for us to GO FOR IT! I was on my Indian motorcyle and ran wide open for a couple of laps. It's geared for low end so I could only get it up to around 120 but that seemed a lot faster on the banked track. Lots of fun!
this is a planned group run for the chairity, I am sure the other private run is set up differently, but with enough interest we could always set that up.
Then, let's set it up...a group run! Imagine all those RRRRR's, in line, like a parade lap, coming to the green...white...checker...together. Just no tradin' paint!!!!
Probably be a one leading the pack, if you ask me.

I will need a hotel room. There is a hotel close to the track that was pretty nice and had a great breakfast in the lobby each morning. I wouldn't mind staying there again.
I think it was called Speedway Inn or something similar .
