O5 SSR - I get a falt code of TLAT HALL Swithch Failure. Took it to West Side Chevy in Houston for exstimate. They said the latches need replacing $1200. Who is the best SSR repair in Houston and is this the solution to the code? Help please
My SSR: '04 Purple (Penelope)#3438 1st '04 Production UV and '06 blue over silver auto, #22851 #5 0f 32
And if that doesn't fix it, Niceville Bill has TLat switches which won't cost your $1200.

My is having the same issue. Goes to the dealer on Friday to see if it is covered by extended warranty.
When you get the TLAT error the DIC thinks the roof is ajar. Also the cover doesn't lock. Tried the cables, no luck. Opened the cover and gave the latches a tap with a rubber mallet. Roof is now closed.
Thanks Dragon 2U for the post. Great pictures to see the problem.

Tony, I have NEVER heard of these switches to actually fail. They just need
some lubrication. If your cover does not lock (just try picking it up on one
side) you need to get at the switches inside the black box. You will then see
where the switch is stuck closed. Just take some WD40 and work the plunger
back and forth.
The switches are the same on both sides of your truck so it could be one or
the other. Gary

I have this issue. I do not see a mechanical switch. Is there an adjustment? Can a Fanatic please provide a pic? I located the plate with the 4 10mm bolts, the 'switch' i see is just a white piece. I dont see anything to lube with wd40. Are these really proximity switches? Does radio shack have them? My top is intermitant, it only gives error if someone says 'hey, can ya show me how the top goes down??' 442

They found the parts and my is scheduled for surgery tomorrow.
Trying to keep the parts. Any tips on how to convince the dealer to let me keep them? Apparently GM wants the parts back for warranty work. I made the case about future parts shortage and they were looking into it.
