Needing replacement in the DFW AERA OF TEXAS.

PARTS ARE IN STOCK.
CLASSIC CHEVROLET

The Dealer will not cut up your hard boxes to make fit.

Struts need to be replaced on all SSR'S built before 3/9/06

Old hinge......................................New hinge........cut top of hard box

I took mine to the dealer last month with this TSB in hand and they said they would not replace the hinges or struts cause it lifts up just far enough to get your fingers in.

My SSR will be the frist one and if it fixes mine we will replace all of them. Trust me are service dept wants to take care of every customer..... what ever it takes.

The owner likes to be number one in service and car and truck sales.

My

just had the struts and hinges replaced under warranty. Gave my dealer the TSB and parts numbers. Never asked a single question.

Works great. Nice to have the lid open all the way, and surprisingly, it is easier to close.

My '04 is out of warranty (39K). Will they still replace the struts? Is this a recall? Thanks.

No it is not a recall but have you ever had it in for this problem.....They sould warranty them if you have.

Give me the last 8 of your vin# and i will check.....OK

Thanks, I bought mine with 38,600 miles on it. The last 8 of the Vin are 4B109337.

The pics you posted, are they of the same side? Whats the major difference between the 2?

I noticed on MY GMC link for my SSR that they have listed that there had been a hinge replacement done on my SSR. I don't remember authorizing any such work and do not recall any such work being done, as my rear deck still only pops up just barely enough to get a finger under it.

The differance is where the strut mounts.....its a new and better angle.
Did they replace the struts also?

Oh that was the latch for the lid that covers the top when its down. One of the latches was busted.

They replaced mine today while I waited. Only took about 45 minutes and they work great. Call Bob at Classic if you need them done! He is very helpful.

just went and talked to the servicew manager at carl chevrolet in san jose cal .Gave him all the numbers from beyers and he said he would order them and install when they come in . thats what I like a service center thats there to help.

I had both 06 SSR Deck Lid not popping up .Took them both to Classic Chev. today .They replaced both hinges and struts ,Now they pop all the way up.
