Just two short bursts of rain. No wind here in Conroe, 1 hr. North of Houston.

I noticed the Weather Channel has reporters staying at the Radisson. I also know some people on South Padre Island. Wicked winds, some of the 2 story rooms at the Radisson have lost part of their roof's. The water 2was up to the sea wall and coming over it for awhile. Loss of power on the Island,.. if you are therre, you are not getting off, until maybe tomorrow, but where would you go. Harlingen is reported to have 2 feet of water on the roadways.

Byers,.. have you heard from your son?

My brother heads down on Sunday, and Diane and i and the rest of the family are going down on August the 2nd. I expect a good bit of the damage will be taken care of, ie; they will have electricty and running water, and be serving drinks at most of the bars. The bigger question will be for some of the Condo owners who wont make it back down there for any length of time. Their refrigerators will have grown some interesting cultures by then.

I plan on taking pictures when i get down there, but expect them to be less then horrific 10 days after the fact.
