That was a heck of a compliment, John! Seeing that you picked the very LAST vehicle that you would ever see me in!

Hey John! Does someone know of a local eatery there around Winnie; I loved it when we ate at Kitty's Purple Cow; doesn't Winnie have a "Kitty's Purple Cow?" Seems that all little nooks and crannies have the good little spots if you know where they are.

The big restaurants are nice, but not personal!

Anybody got any ideas?? I was planning on the Garth Road Crackerbarrel again, but if there's another place nearby in Winnie - I'm all for it.

I have never eaten at this retaurant but is recommended by my friend.

It is about 5 miles north east of Winnie near Hamshire.

Al-T's Seafood and Steak. The menu is attached.

I forgot about Al-T's. We've eaten there many times. Great Cajun food.

If Al-Ts opens around 11:00 am, we could meet there and wait for the "crew" to show from the "fairy" boat ride!

[quote=bronco;368576]Did I miss the time to meet at Winnie? Has some determined that yet?

The front end of the trip is at 9:00 AM at the Racetrack gas station on Dixiefarm road - about a half mile east of I-45 at the Dixiefarm Road exit. That's the only time we can really say with any certainty. The run will head to Galveston, then the ferry to Bolivar and up to Winne though Main Pass. I'm guessing that will be about two to two and a half hours, but it all depends on the ferry.

If y'all PM me your cell phone - we'll call you from the Bolivar side of the ferry - it's about another 45 minutes to an hour from there to Winnie and Al-T's.

Phoning the cell numbers is a great idea. Also I mentioned meeting at AL-Ts around 11:00 to 11:30.
