Here is the lates information from Kimberly Kovach who is walking in the 60 mile event later this year.
Dick,
Thanks for all your efforts in helping put this together. I really appreciate it. I have attached a letter describing a little about the walk. I have also talked to Sheila, New Service Manager, Autoway Chevrolet, about donations.
The foundation I am walking for is the Susan G. Komen 3 Day for a Cure 60 mile walk. The walk takes place October 29-31 in the St Pete area. They have not set the final walk layout yet. The walk consists of 60 miles starting Friday the 29th and ends on Sunday the 31st.
If you would like more information you may visit the Susan G. Komen website at

Thanks again,
Kim Kovach

Dear SSR Fanatics,
This year, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.
I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. Net proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™ are invested in community-based breast health programs and breast cancer research. The research funded focuses on decreasing breast cancer incidence and mortality in the next decade.
I've agreed to raise at least $2,300 in donations, however, I have set my goat at $3300.00. So I need your help. Keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train. You can donate online at

I will be dedicating my walk to a dear friend, Sara, who has lost her battle to breast cancer at the age of 27 in December of 2009. She is survived by her husband Justin and, together, their 5 beautiful children. I am also walking for Tami, a coworker, who has just finished her treatment for breast cancer.
Without a cure, one person will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes in the United States. That's why I'm walking . To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts. The Komen 3 Day Walk represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
Please remember that Breast Cancer can affect anyone. I want to make sure that our mothers, sisters, daughters, and even you or I have the opportunity of facing this disease head on and find a cure.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
