Brooksville golf anyone?
OK!! If you like golf then you will love the course here at Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville. Pete Dye was at his devious best when he designed this course. Honestly, you would not believe you are in Florida because of the rolling terrain and most difficult green construction.
Dicktator has indicated that there would probably be a fair amount of interest so I will do my best at coordinating tee times.
Timing is everything. Soon the days will become very short and the weather will get cold. If we want to play I suggest doing so before the end of November.
I will do my best to negotiate with the club for reduced rates. I believe we will have to pay $50 unless I can do better.
I suggest we focus on November 6th or November 13th. Please let me know your interest.
I could be talked into this. I haven't had a lunch courtesy of Dicktator in quite a while. Nov 6th is good, Nov 13th is Roar N Soar at Fantasy of Flight.

Golf
OK!! Let's plan on Saturday Nov 6th. I'll try and get something around 11:00. This should provide time in the morning for driving to Brooksville and dusting off your putters. Wait, what did I just say?
I should be able to get a tee times confirmed by early next week.

The results are in
This was a memorable day of golf for all. The day started very cool at 52 degrees. Warmed up to 60 degrees by the 19th hole. The wind started slow in the morning but reached near 20 MPH in the afternoon.
After a number of different betting scenarios were discussed we finally decided upon young versus old..... I think young was still pretty old.
Dictator and Gene challenged Alex and Bruce for the coveted Brooksville bragging rights cup. It was a match that saw the leads vanish as quickly as they appeared. The match consisted of a total team score on each hole with the winner getting one point for the hole. The winners of the front, back, and total would win $5 for each segment. The most anyone could lose/win was $15. Dick was offering free blinking brake light install if he lost.
Gene and Dick won the front 9 with five holes won to four for the losers. Alex and Bruce won the back nine with three holes won to two for the losers. No blood!!
High score on a single hole was won by Alex and Bruce with a 16 on the par 5 fifth hole. Not to be outdone Gene and Dick scored 14's on the par 4 14th and par 4 18th.
Individual scores were as follows:
Gene 97
Dick 95
Bruce 87
Alex 115
A warning for golfers who wish to play for money with Gene or Dick. They complain about this hurting and that hurting, pains they have not had in years, not having played more than once or twice in a year, antiquaited equipment (Dick still plays with persimmon clubs and golf balls made from feathers), but will take your money if you are not very careful. Nose picker should be called pocket picker. This man can chip and putt.
If you play with Alex then you will learn to appreciate a player who uses every ounce of strength on every swing. You will not hear Alex ever say "I knew I should have swung harder."
We hope to do this again and possibly attract enough for another foursome.
