We're so excited to finally meet Chick and Jan! I'm trying to get Lonnie to get Sinister's new intake tuned and sidepipes installed for the occasion (it's a little known fact that Chick has Sinister's behind, ).
In Lakeland off the US98 exit are all the usual chain restaurants, haven't been out that way in a while but can try to drive out this weekend and look around. Then there is the historic downtown Lakeland area which is really lovely - there are several non-chain type places and a "town square" atmosphere. There is a very pretty place in the lobby of a beautiful old hotel with view of the lake - not sure of price or rowdy group tolerence. There is also an open-air seafood place that always looks fun but crowded - maybe they take reservations? I'm sure when Gene checks in he can make some suggestions.
Looking forward to it!

lakeside village is shopping area built around an old style main street setting. there is also a Chili's, a Mimimi's cafe, Mo,s southwest grill , Macaroni grille and about 10 other eating places located there. easy access off the polk parkway on Harden Blvd. the burger king across the street also has a cruise night on the saturday nights, not sure which saturday...plenty of selection, but that is always the problem with a group, which one, which one, which one....doug , 863-559-2287 , if i may be of any help on questions..... cruise hard....

Yo Florida brothers & sisters
However you decide to welcome them I know that you will appreciate that you are getting some fine folks in Chick & Jan. We could always count on them to attend events here in New England even when Chick wasn't 100% due to his treatments. And then look out because I'm coming down in September to stay permenently, it's a yankee invasion. Actually we're all getting too old for all the snow up here. See ya soon

Sounds real good. I'm sure we can all agree on something, these guys are pretty easy.
Sounds good to me Doug, and Thanks for helping us find a location. If it's OK with Vettegirl, it is OK with the rest of us.
Good Job.
So, SATURDAY, AUG 23, AT 5:00PM
MEET AT LAKESIDE VILLAGE - off Polk Parkway on HARDEN BLVD.
Lakelandssr/Doug Malcoum did the leg work on this, and we thank him and look forward to meeting him in Lakeland.
Doug, Please post address of LAKESIDE VILLAGE, most of use GPS.

Looking forward to meeting !
Hello to All:
Jan & I are looking forward to meeting up with all of you, and delighted that Dan is going to join us in the Fall. I'm sorry that we'll be without our SSR on this trip - But we plan on renting an HHR during our visit. We know of the Mall and shouldn't have any problems finding all of you. We're actually staying at a friends home off of S. Florida so it's only about a 5 minute trip for us - That is after we get home from looking at properties. We'll both be ready to relax a little by then to get ready to go back on the road on Sunday to look over more properties. We've got a pretty crazy schedule so bring on the cold ones ! Here are a couple of pictures of one of the homes we're going to consider if we decide to build.

Enough of that "Crap".
They are going to STAY in Florida, so, their Passport Requirement is waved, it is not like Sweetheart Dave who comes for a visit and then back accross the border.
Chick, House looks awesome, not to BIG, not to Small, Raised slightly and plenty of room for your SSR.

I love the floor plan, it has all the most important things - a garage, his-and-her sinks in the master bath, and a big ol garden tub!
We're really looking forward to meeting you - see you soon! And it's great to hear poppa is moving down too, we met him in Maggie Valley and he will make a great addition to the Florida mob.
