St. Pete Pier

A guy claiming to be the one setting up the Dream Cruise for the Chamber of Commerce dropped by the show at the pier last Saturday, handed out flyers to everyone there.

He was asked about burnout contests, said he had asked the cops, they said no, and meant no.

He also said this is supposed to be Daytona's version of the Woodward Cruise. Other than that, nothing other than what has been said here before.

That was probably Rick. I know he has been doing a lot of promoting at different car shows.
It surprises me a bit about the burn outs. I was not planning on burning mine up but during bike week there are burn out contests. Why would they be allowed then.
Woodward Ave requests that there be no burn outs or speeding along the strip so maybe thats what the cops did not want.
I was looking at the minutes of some of the city meetings. Cruise involves three different cities. There was concern with potential traffic problems. Looked like everything was worked out. Rick has been a busy man.

During Turkey Rod Run when you cruise A1A there are people lined up along the street in lawn chairs as if watching a parade. Some will pour buckets of water in front of the cars and yell for them to do a burnout. You all know Lonnie can't resist that temptation , but the police seemed to turn a blind eye to it. My guess is the Dream Cruise will be the same.

Anne, I've seen him try to use 2 fingers. What a sight. Both of em got twisted up together.

ps: Give Carol a hug from me... Hope she's doing well after the loss of her Mother.

Well.... if you'd get your butt down here and find a decent (nice) hotel with good rates on the beach, maybe we'd jump ship on the Hilton. It would be easier to get ring-side seats for when Lonnie gets a ticket doing burnouts, if we were staying on A1A. When are ya'll comin' down?

Smile New Member (I like this site)

Hi all you guys ( & Gals ) in this Fanatics Forum. You are killing me, I have only had my "2003" Redline for 6 weeks and already I have gone for Mike's Boxal's tips, The windsupressor (w/lights) Mike's airdam,A magaflow muffler,A Valentine Radar Detector - not to mention the Cargo Net, Cup Holder and touch up paint. I hope my $ 25 for membership doesn't bounce (or maybe as 1my bride of 55 yrs. said "that would be a blessing") This is the best family sites I have seen in a long time, can't get enough l or 2 hrs. a night. I enjoy the knowledge, information and comraderie I see on this site. We are looking to meeting as many of you as we can & we will be signing up for the Datona trip in Oct. as soon as I sign off. PS: Forgot about the floormats from Fuzzy Batman & the cross member that's on order.
All for now - Jack & June

less than 4 months till Daytona I am not missing a minute of it..... And JXTALS - You need the Billet Aluminum caps for the engine compartment, some decals from SonnyB and of course the lettering for the underhood blanket. Dont forget the Corvette servo or the neat stuff from MikeAz. See his website. And please dont go around without having read JimG's book on the SSR found here on the Forum. Just my 2 cents....
