Hotel

I asked Mike/MikeinOrlando, to check on the Hotel pricing that David had negociated w/LaQuinta.

He verified that the rates are:
(Check 1st Post by Dingbat)

Standard Room- $79.00
Ocean Front - $89.00
Jacuzze Suite - $139.00

The Gen. Mgr. did tell Mike that we must tell the Desk that you are with the
"SSR Fanatic Group".

The Gm suggested that anyone who did not get this rate to call and inform them that you are with the "SSR Fanatic Group".

fill free to call if you get lost.

I forgot. You got me on speed dial.

NOTE: for those of you that are wondering, Chris is at the present time "wifeless",

so he doesn't have a co-passenger-rider-boss to demand (nag) him to look at the map,

so he just keeps driving around.

I didn't have a problem when I made my reservations last week - I said we have a group rate for the SSR Fanatics, I was put on hold for 30 seconds, and the lady came back on and quoted me those exact rates.

Smile Daytona Beach Dream Cruise

Daytona Beach Dream Cruise

There seems to be some misconception as to the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise as being a SSR Rally, it is not.

The Daytona Beach Dream Cruise is sponsored by Daytona Beach and the Daytona Beach Hot Rod Club. The Event Director is Rick D’Louhy.

Rick will be the one to tell US, When, What and Where as to the Event happenings.

We are only a small part of the 1200 cars expected for the Cruise.

For the SSR Fanatics it is only a get together, like always.

It is not a SSR Rally
NO, banquet
NO, shirts
NO, trophies
It is a Meet, Greet, Drink, and have Fun get together.

The Hotel of Choice for SSR Fanatics is:
LaQuinta
816 N. Atlantic Ave
Daytona Beach, Fl 32118
Tel. 386-944-0060
(Inform them you are with SSR FANATIC GROUP)

If you have another Hotel you would prefer, by all means go there, you do not HAVE to stay at the LaQuinta.

Several places have been suggested for dinner, we are all on our own. Some will be going to “Under the Bridge” others may prefer, Olive Garden, it doesn’t matter. Where ever you would like, get your SSR Friends together and pick a place.

Your Servant

I Second That all the way from the Georgia Alabama line.

Now my take on it:

Dingbat - Mike had the Idea and started this Thread and I thank him for that.

I stayed at the Racetrack Hilton in March and it is nice.
While in Florida, I'm more of a Beach Person.

I have eaten at many Olive Gardens and I'm sure I will again.
While in Florida, I'm more of a Seafood person. Breakfast (ask peters57chevy), Lunch (ask a few of our Florida Fanitic Friends) and Supper (ask several more of our Florida Fanatic Friends).

No matter where you stay, what you eat, what you drive, what time you get up, what time you go the sleep, how you dress, how you do your hair, or don't if it's gone (couldn't resist), as long as you are somewhat clean, and brush your teeth or put them in the glass over night (couldn't resist again), and promise not to pee in the pool or spa, you are more than welcome and encouraged to be a Equal part of OUR gathering.

Kim & I are planning on a Great time with ALL of you.

No Title, No Authority, No Power, Just Me

True that - Thanks Mike for getting this rolling.

Now Dave, that only leaves one question unanswered.......will you actually be showing up in Daytona with one of YOUR SSR's?

Dictator keeps order. You rock Dick! I have also registered with Corvettes of Florida and my girlfriend is in the Ford Truck bunch. She has a 1950 Ford Truck with 5.0 Mustang running gear. Shiny Black and I have to put up with it. "She is worth it" I tell myself when I ride in it. I remind her of the 'Whippin' my SSR gave her 50.

We sent our entry in today and looking forward to making the trip down from Indiana. We won't be staying at the listed hotels as we traded our September timeshare for one in October and will stay over the following week.

I want to thank Dicktator for filling in a bit while I was AWOL. Things are close to normal again.

Update on the Dream Cruise site shows a Show and Shine with a drive in movie scheduled for Saturday evening.

Looks like a bunch of you made reservations on the beach. Is anyone still wanting to stay at the Hilton?? I spoke with the manager the other day and knocked our block of rooms down to 15. If we are not going to use them the polite thing to do would be let her know. So whats up?

I am working on the final design for tshirts. They will be Jerzees 50/50. I'll set up another thread for ordering shortly but wanted to give everyone a heads up on this.

Now if Fay finally moves out of here...
