Well if she were going a few miles east to Panama City I could tell her all about it, I'm over in the redneck part of the Riviera.

Purple Penelope should be able to chime in on this.

Destin or panama city

Panama city is app 55 miles from destin. But panama city beach is app 40 miles. Panama city and panama city beaches are a lot bigger then destin. When i grew up basically destin was a sport fishing area and panama city was a "party" area. I love the panama city area. What type of family are we talking about. Boy friend girl friend, just married, family with small kids, family with teenagers, "older couple".

Machell, one other thing she will be on the wrong side of florida to see the ocean. She will be on the gulf side. Which in my humble opinion is prettier.

destin

depends on what you want.

I'm not a beach - sand in the room person.

I stay over in Niceville at the Hampton Inn. There is also a Hampton Inn in Destin that is close to the beach. or you can go $$ and stay on the beach.

But then again, I go for work (Eglin AFB) and not for play...

Its about 40 minutes or so. Not sure if its rented, its on a rental program down there. I am not on the water, if its her first time i'm sure she would prefer the ocean view.

I Love PCB also!!!!! Destin is very pretty to but for me its kinda uppity compared to PCB. I like the party redneck side myself. Although PCB has undergone lots of changes the past few years and now its a lot of ugly high rises in lots of the areas. Like Jack says, need to know if your cousin is taking kids, or is this a couple or what to give recommendations.

St Andrews State Park is awesome. Its right there but nice beaches with no condos. Shell Island is nice to. You catch a shuttle out of St. Andrews.
Also Pier Park is new and is a lot of fun. They have a Margaritaville there. Very touristy though. I know lots of the local restaurants to.

St. Andrews State Park's SHELL ISLAND SHUTTLE.
