I'm back at work after 1 1/2 week vacation. I could totally retire except for the no money thing.

Now I can remember the old Italians going for mushrooms and bringing them back. They were the wild ones, that only grew in hardwood tree's, and none of them would ever tell anyone where they were getting them. Then Noni ( grandmother ) would boil them with a silver nickle, if the nickle turn'd black they were no good to eat. God I miss some of the old ways, those days are gone for ever.

Beautiful day to drive topless!!! Some smokey smell from nearby brushfires. Just south of me, 100+ houses went up in smoke thanks to arson.

So far no one hurt by the fires, animals are not as lucky. 1 Fireman got injured by a falling electrical line. Very dense forest and a high density of single family homes. Gov said the whole state is having issues as its been very, very dry. He stated there are about 9 large scale fires and about 45 smaller brush fires that the afternoon winds are again causing to grow. I see lots of heavy equipment on the road going to the worse areas. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. We have Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Floods, Lightning storms and Lovebugs. Still Paradise!

Don't forget snowbirds got me twice, once in my Corvette, and once on my Harley. But yes is still Paradise.

The whole area is very dry and things will go up in flames real fast. Stay safe any of you near the fires. There are some good pics and videos on the WFTV website Orlando News, Central Florida News, Daytona Beach News, Melbourne News, Weather, Traffic, Sports

We're expecting storms here, possibly severe. So I'm not venturing far from the farm today. Rain will be fine just no bad stuff.
