What's the latest on the Hurricane

The tropical winds are 185 miles from the eye of the storm. The high pressure coming in from the mid-west has pushed the air currents more toward the east thus the forecasters have moved the track east in anticipation of the high holding its ground. BUT IF this storm does not make the turn to the east direction by late this afternoon the track will probably be moved west again and put it closer to Charlotte; right now Irene is heading almost due west. Irene will be doing a lot of wobbling before she passes the Florida Keys. I personally think it will become a larger possibly Cat 4 storm as it nears the Carolinas; water temperatures off N.C. are in the high 70’s good fuel for this storm. This is not the only storm as there are two more waves coming off of Africa. Next update from NHC is at 2:00pm

When it comes to hurricanes I get it straight from NHC, not the weather channel

Nope not for parts of coastal SC & NC/Virginia. there is still the chance it will not make a good enough turn to the east and come in at Charleston or Myrtle Beach area. Hurricanes are not equiped with GPS and they don't follow projected paths very well either.

Hey Doophus I am in Downtown Charlotte, NC abd the building is shaking from the earthquake that just hit 38 miles from Richmond VA it was an 5.8 at 1:51 this afternoon . OMG earthquake and hurricane

Darn, now if the earthquake and hurricane hits Washington DC, the earthquake can open up a huge hole and then the water from the hurricane provides the proper flush.

My mother lives in Kitty Hawk, NC which is on the Outer Banks where this storm could make a direct hit. My brother who lived with my mom just died last Friday morning. So we are all over to the house staying with our mother for awhile. So just pray for our family, my mother does'nt need any other things to happen at this time.

My daughter just landed in West Palm Beach aboard a C-130 cargo plane. They were evacuated from Andros Island. They were originally dead center on the path until Irene decided to move a bit to the east.

Robin and I are back home now, we had to leave because shes a teacher and today is the first day of school. I have two brothers and my sister-in-law still over there with my mom. My mother never leaves the Outer Banks no matter how bad things look. Not like me, I don't like those high winds.
