The seats were a Christmas Gift from my Wife. It has been something I wanted to do.
Not an easy task, however. I started back in Dec. before Christmas trying to put my idea down on paper. I used Katzkin link to design your own seats. NOT happy with that tool.
I designed the seat with the SSR in the headrest, SS in Silver/Red R on Black headrest. One Silver Panel on the lower back and one Silver Panel on the seat.
Reason, I thought it would be TO much Silver.
Dealer ordered, Katzkin said "Can't do SSR in headrest. Because the headrest in not removable.
They sent the seats with the SSR as high as they can on the back, like where it is now, only they made the SS in Silver like I requested. AAHHH, Silver on Silver doesn't show up well!
They made them over with the SS in Black like it is now. Not done yet. They sent the seat with BOTH panels on the back in Silver, I only wanted ONE panel on the back in Silver. "Can't do that, both panels have to Silver". So, what you see, is what I got.
They sent the bottom seat with BOTH panels in Silver instead of ONE like we ordered. "Can't do that, both panels have to be Silver"
Not disappointed but why have a link to design your seats if they can't do it. Here is the link: Seat Color Selector by Katzkin
Thanks to my Bald Brother, Tony, Golfer2 and Howard, BadBlackSSR, removing and installing the seats was easy. Tony did catch on, that if I took the pictures, he was doing the work. Darn, Now HE wants to take the pictures.
1. Tony and Howard at work. (Someone had to take the picture)
2. Tony removing seat bolts. Notice that I supplied air ratchet.
3. Tony removing our expensive foam left foot rest.
4. Cleaned and lubricated the seat mechanism
5. My OLD seats boxed and ready to put away.

The seats look awesome.
With all the upgrades you are making your R is becoming a true show car. At this pace you might get concerned about driving it for fear that it might get dirty.
Makes an old man want to cry, not really, I do that everyday anyway.
It was a bit more work than I expected but what to hay, it is quieter with the soundproofing and the seats look good, so what's to cry for.
Did some 1/8" trim around the new door panel, that is the way my old one was.
Going to continue my "Permagrin" for a while, thanks to Kathy who has been by my side for 35 years and now whispers in my ear, "When are you going to be done spending $$$ on your R".
