Wecome to the Forum from NW FL.. I'm Sure "Mike in Orlando" or "Dicktator" will chime in. You live in the perfect area to go to our Rallys & happenings..

Welcome Rodjli! Florida is one of the more active SSR chapters so it won't be long before you meet the regulars in your area. And feel free to ask, most have questions about their trucks when new & answers come easy here.
If you would like a build sheet for your vehicle (shows what it originally came with, etc) then post your VIN in this thread:

Hi,
Welcome to Florida. I responded to your PM so look for it.
Last fall we bought our first SSR and, as luck would have it, we found out there was a show being held at the Sun & Fun museum which is midway between Orlando and Tampa. We decided to go just to meet other SSR owners and learn about our new toy. What a wonderful group of folks.
Dicktator (Dick Belleville), who I now consider a good friend, told me that I did not join a club, that the Florida chapter in particular is much like a good family. I kind of chuckled at the time but I will say he is spot on.
First time I realized it was when I decided to have a frame stiffner and radiator stiffner put on my SSR. I was scheduled to go to Dick's house to have it done. I put the address in my GPS, drove to Clearwater and there were five SSR's parked there. I was the last guy there......on time mind you. They waved me into the garage, I parked it as instructed, turned off the engine and three guys, who I had never met but casually at the rally were already working on my vehicle before I could get out the door.
When I am in FL I try to go to as many tech days as I can because I never fail to learn something, we all help each other out, and normally have lunch or something and solve all the world's problems in our spare time.
There is a great group of folks in Orlando, you will like them. They put on a terrific rally in Kissimmee in early March. We had over 50SSR's from several states and we had a blast.
There was a rally in Maggie Valley, NC this spring and we drove down from our summer home in IL and the largest representation was from the Florida Chapter. Indeed we did some cruising.
As someone moving in from outside the area, I think you will find it amazing how quickly you will find a bunch of new friends, and nice people, you will meet in the SSR group.
Hope to meet you in the fall.
Regards,
Dennis Miller

PS: I see Dicktator has schedule a tech weekend in Titusville. I would strongly recommend you find a way to get there, if nothing else to observe. A lot of folks are getting work done on their vehicles and you will be surrounded with folks with tons of knowledge about SSR's.
Thanks for the replies. Im looking forward to meeting other owners. I really want to make the tech day, but not sure if I can get back for it. I drive an Expedite Truck and travel the USA most of the month. I am really interested in the radiator steel support I saw on that tech day page as mine is plastic and broken on the left side.
I have tons of questions about this great ride...but will try and educate myself first with all the forum inputs. I bet a lot of my questions are already in here.
BTW...does anyone ever head out to Mount Dora to Pieces Rising? Cool restaurant/bar out there... Great driving out there too.
Thanks again...looking forward to meeting everyone.

Orlando Florida is a great place to have an SSR. Plenty of people to help with ideas and advise. Dicktator is the best, but a little shy perhaps! Don't hesitate to contact anyone for help.
