Mike Fontana our SUPER HOST provided a picturesque setting for a Super Tech Day. Big Garage, lots of room, perfect security.
Drinks, Food and Fun.
I didn't get a count on Friday but we concentrated on Martin Dakis. We took his R apart and put it back together. Well, almost.
Started at 1PM and finished on his R about 4 O'Clock. What did he have, you ask, radiator support, Frame Stiffener, Muth Mirrors, Soundproofing, Fan, LC32 Cross Member, Blinking brake light, and mole skin.
Saturday, Mike Fontana wanted to bet there would not be 14 SSR. I told him I couldn't take such easy money. 15 SSR' showed up, see!!
We started on Saturday with Jerry Avvento, Gennaro24. This Newbie, owned a 2006 that he "ROLLED OVER" about a year ago in Orlando, totaled. He has lots of scares but LOVES the SSR. He had the top down. We are getting him a helmet to wear while he drives his R with to top down.
He now has an 05 that he is working on.

Pictures:
1. Dicktator arrived first and claimed the only parking spot.
2. Alex Novakoski, Largossr05 parked across the street.
3. Overflow parking
4. We used both garages, one single and the 50' X 16' Motor Home Size.
5. Walter, Jeff Hanover, Jefftbfl, installing Mike in AZ fan.
More:
1. Dicktator putting Muth Mirrors together.
2. Doug, SoonerRed, Florida Chapter Ambassador, and Mr. T working on mole skin.
3. Mr. T helping Roger Lewis, Sharptoys with big project.
4.Jeff, doing wire repair on roof wiring. We inspected all the SSR roof wiring and found several that needed attention. Wire chaffs through insulation and short out roof operation. Martin, Mr. T and Walter learning.
5.Dan Schultz came with all his diagnostic equipment from his shop. Dan sure helped us a lot. Dan and Newbie Jerry Avvento working on door panels.
Yes, More!
1. Martin with Roger Lewis leaning against the wall and Glen, Cybersailor.
2. Roger Lewis, Jeff Hanover and Chuskster, checking wiring on Rogers R
3. Joe Avvento and Dicktator working on Muth Mirrors. ( Notice I am parting my hair differently?)
4. George, Beach Potato and Walter. Walter came down on the AutoTrain from New Jersey for Tech Day. His has to be a "SSR FANATIC".
Again!
1. Dicktator showing Martin how to replace cut corners on the roof pad. Cut out bad area, not through the backing and replace with dense closed cell foam. Cut in in triangle, silicone caulk or other adhesive, done. Those are Roger, Sharptoys yellow shoes in the picture.
2. Dicktator leaving with Glen, Cybersailor to calibrate his gages after face cluster change. He installed yellow, wonder why. Thanks to Dan Schultz equipment we could set tack, speed, oil pressure accurately.
3. Ann O'Brien, Black06, giving instructions to Martin and Doug on how to install Blinking Brake Light, while Gary watches.
4.Tech Day SSR Fanatics on Saturday at about Noon. Left to right. Marcial-Doc13, Martin Dakis, Jay Braun, Doug-SoonerRed, George-Beach Potato, Jerry-Gennaro24, Chuckster-6.0togo, Gary, Roger-Sharptoys, Tom/Ann-Black06, Walter, Alex-Largossr05, Dan Schultz, Dicktator kneeling to tired to get up.

I want to thank Dick for his patients with the work on my new gauges. Even after I unplugged the cluster when I should not have done so and the extra calibration run. Thanks the Alex, Martin, and Jeff for getting the radiator brace installed and to all those who assisted on the projects.
A special thanks to your host Mike. What perfect place for the event.
It was a pleasure meeting everyone and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

My two cents
Whew! It was work and it was hot. I’m sure a lot of our East coast ‘R’ owners’ (I guess Walt from NJ is considered East coast) learned quite a bit about their ‘R’s and what a great group of owners we have down here in Florida. Tech days like this one wouldn’t be possible without YOU participating and the efforts of our Ambassadors and our tireless leader Dicktator.
The work seemed to go smoothly with everyone’s chipping in to “Get R Done.” Martin had the most work done to his ‘R’ on Friday and REALLY did help all of his fellow ‘R’ owners out so we were able to finish up on Saturday afternoon and enjoy the rest of our weekends. I’m not going to name names (Jeff) here but THANK YOU to everyone for everything!
I’m not sure just how many frame stiffeners’ and radiator supports Dick brought over in his ‘R’ but they just kept coming!
We seem to learn something new every time we get together. Jerry from Orlando had a problem with the factory mole skin scratching the outside, yes outside of the door windows, more so on the drivers side. We’ve never seen this happen so off came the rubber molding on the doors (just one screw with door panel off) and a couple of hours later, the rubber was adhesive free with new mole skin attached both inside and outside of the rubber.
We had Gary a newbie drive over from Ocala with windows that didn’t set in the rubber molding. Jeff showed him and a few others there how to reset his windows just in case someone else replaces their battery.
We also learned that if you reverse the hook up of the in and out power to the relay, not only will the light work about half as bright as it should, it’s good to go for the trash.
So much from me. Hope to see you soon on our West coast.

Couldn't say it better myself Dick. A super outing and a super group of folks working together to make these trucks even better. As always, met lots of new folks and got to know them and their trucks and it's always good to see the veterans.
As always, Alex and Jeff kicking butt on the hard stuff. And Martin put a lot of new things on his truck as well but he worked hard on both days, right in line with Alex and Jeff and the others. If you need that 3rd light blinker installed, I think he can do it with his eyes shut now.
El presidente once again got us all motivated and did the hairy wiring of the mirrors and the sticky soundproofing......throne or not, we needed the leadership Dick!
And special thanks to Mike Fontana for hosting us in his neighborhood.
And not to forget my buddy Big Bird, Roger Lewis and his lovely wife Jo, for their hospitality over the weekend. You folks are the best.
Can't wait for the next FL tech day....but can I make one suggestion? Maybe do it in a month with an "R" in it?

Looks like I miss a good gathering, lots to see and learn! Dick, can we hold one say from November to May?
Henry, Carolyne and Hai Hai
Our temperature rose to 35 degrees Celsius today! That is 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Need to move Tech Days to cooler time of year is a GREAT suggestion.
I agree, how is that, a Dicktator that agrees??
I am looking at end on November, First of December Tech Day. Doug, please notice they both have an "R".
Jacksonville area?? What do you say, Doug, SoonerRed, Ambassador??
We have tried Tech Days at Rally's, NOT good, working on SSR's at a Rally defiantly interferes with FUN.
I would like some suggestion on where the next Tech Day should be held. I want to go to different areas of our State to provide upgrades and mod's to ALL our SSR Fanatics. We are gaining in members, up to 173 last count.
It sure was HOT! But we did not charge extra for our weight reduction program and I am sure there was some weight loss.
That said, check out the pictures.
1. Friday Night, start left-Alex, Walter, Martin, Glen, and Dicktator
2. Saturday Night, start left-Jay,Mike,Glen,Walter,Dicktator,Alex and Chuckster.
3. Michael Jackson look alike was at our Tech Day. NOTICE only ONE GLOVE!

Good morning Dick,
Sorry to have missed the tech day. Nice to see Alex changed his shirt before dinner, he looked like he was actually sweating there for a moment.
Dick, do not know who or how many from out of state come to the Daytona event in October. How far is Titusville from there, would it make sense to schedule a tech day the day before the Daytona event or something???
Glad all went well. Hoping to take the grandson and SSR to the car show tonight, feature vehicle are trucks so we get the main area. Right now weather is a tad iffy.
Thanks for the pictures wish I could have been on the list. Hopefully the next one will be the First Week in November before my surgery so that I can come down.
Man oh Man... I just can't believe my eyes.... what a really cool group! I am totally bummed to have missed this tech day. Im super eager to learn about the SSR... I just love it. Well I will make sure I make the next one... Def need the radiator bracket..

Great pictures, thank for sharing.
I would have loved to have been there myself. You Florida guys have so much fun. I guess i'm a little jealous.
Dick any chance you & your crew can come to Ontario/Canada and put on a Tech weekend or maybe a week.
