WOW! Ambassador Roger Lewis, Sharptoys and helper Mike Fontana sure put on a good rally for us. Set a record for the Titusville Car Show that is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce ever year.
SEVENTEEN (17) SSR's were at the Show. We were the biggest group attending.
We sang Happy Birthday to Gary Peterson, Vetteman62 who also was the hero of the Show for helping Jeff/Tina, Jeffantic with his "blowout". NEW TIRE TOO! An 8" screwdriver puts quite a "gash" in a tire.
Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating Labor Day in Titusville.

We met in Orlando for lunch before going to Titusville Show. It was a good location to meet, we cruised as a group to Titusville. Well almost, Jeff had tire problem and some stayed to help him and others continued to the Show.

Some pics of the action along Hwy 50 trying to get air in the tire. We would never have made it without Chuck's help with his spare tire that he had under his SSR and him crawling under Jeff's "R" in the gravel with his nice embroidered SSR white shirt.
Had to borrow a tire wrench from a camper that was comimg out of a storage area. Finally giving up on airing up the damaged tire and stowing it away in Alex's "R". What Jeff's neat "R" looked like with the spare on at the Firestone dealership. I double plugged the damaged tire with Jeff hoping that it would make it back because Firestone would not touch it by either patching it from the inside or plugging it.
The Firestone guys let us use their air and they installed the plugged tire and waved us off wishing us luck. A huge thanks to Chuck and Alex in helping us to make the situation work.

Tina and I would like to thank everyone for all their help. It was just great not to feel abandoned on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Without the help of our "Friends" we would have been stranded for who knows how long. Again, those that where there, thank you very, very much. ( We will get all the tools we borrowed back to you as soon as we can.) If anyone knows who`s missing a screwdriver please let us know!
Oh yea, about all the quarters, if you will submit a claim form for the total amount of money donated, we will, in a timely manner, reimburse all those that were kind enough to get us through the tolls without anymore fines.
To our extended family, thank you again.

Gary, That's exactly what I mean! We hope to start spending more winter time down there with you folks. My wife is going to retire at the end of this year and I'm already retired.

Update on the flat tire......
As many of you know Firestone in Orlando would not repair the tire, they said that to many chords were torn and it would not be safe and they didn`t want the liability attached to the repair.
Thats why Gary and I repaired it with a double plug to get me home. It held up fine for the drive home, never went over 60 mph, didn't loose any air.
Went in today to Tire Choice where I originally got the tires and they were able to locate one tire, according to them the last one in the US. (Firestone Wide Ovals have been discontinued in the size for the rear.) With road hazard insurance the tire cost me nothing, though I had to pay for mounting and balancing and a new road hazard warranty which came to $75.
The old tire upon inspection showed a significant amount of stress to the tread, so I decided to junk it even though they would have let me take it.
Again thanks to everyone.
