Really....
Don't forget to wet your whistle at one of the many famous watering holes while we're in Key West....
Hemingway's old hang out Sloppy Joe's is fun, they usually have a band and sometimes a "celeb" steps in and plays for the crowd. Cool T-shirts are found here too:
Somewhere just above the Bull n Whistle is a clothing optional place I saw a couple fanatics coming out of last Keys Run...
here's a $1 off a frozen drink coupon:

The tourist bars such as Sloppys' is terribly packed with lines outside the doors when the cruise ships are in so a warning there when planning. Had a great time there in April but sure was different from 10 yrs ago when there last. I mean.. tourist boats have brought shops such as Ron Jon's Surf Shop?..in the Keys!?..and Coach?....sigh
I talked to the owner of Crabby Dick's restaurant while eating there (which is way up the street from the tourist hot spots) and he said his business was down 40% the last year so if ya want to help a local........ and if you eat on the 2nd story balcony, you can be entertained by the drag queens at Aqua Nightclub across the street parading around getting customers to come to their shows....

Ok its official... I booked the room at Bay View. All of the rooms are booked by Fanatics Ed told me. I took someone off the hook for a night charge, who had to cancel, so whoever that was just send me the cash for 1/2 night! I'll need it in Key West for the bar bill!
So now a map quest but think its about 1000 miles from home. Maybe a straight thru drive. We'll see how crabby the woman gets.

I'm with ya... there is only surf in the Keys when there's a hurricane blowin'.
These are a few restaurants I can say do have decent food at a semi decent price. I have to admit I have had more over-priced, low quality food in Key West than anywhere else I have traveled in the state of Florida... sorry, just stating a fact.
Maybe some other fanatics can chime in on good places to have lunch in Key West.

On Caroline St which runs off Duvall is Pepe's and right across the street is BO's Fish Wagon. They both rate high on trip advisors.....
I ate at Pepe's and loved it. They would have parking for everyone for lunch. Both places are eclectic so don't expect 5 star rankings... but food is excellent.
The top rated is Blue Heaven for breakfast. Ate there also and was very good but more touristy than 10 yrs ago but still worth it.

There is a web cam outside of Sloppy Joes. When there I always call my friends and tell them to get online and I wave at them and torture them. So please torture me if ya'll go to or walk by Sloppy Joes. Wave at us poor souls that couldnt make the trip.
I have been to a drag queen show in Key West but cant remember which bar it was was. Have to say those were the ugliest drag queens I have ever seen in my life!!!!

Hope there isn't an 'adams apple removal' operation
Anne says "I haven't seen too many drag queens in my lifetime, but I always said that the prettiest women in Key West were men!" (Waysouth'mother'ofpartyplanners)
I agree Sis but the Navy guys from the Naval station have to understand how to look for an adams apple...some young seaman have got the surprize of their young lives when on Liberty.

For all you that can't come............come anyway!! This is going to be the best event of the year. It's my first. And it can't be better than in the keys with all the SSR's around. The beach, sun, sand, bikinis, topless r's(are you drooling?). Think I'm going to stay there forever. Can't wait.
