My SSR: "Rev'in Mr. Black" 1995 Impala SS - black with a 383 stroker motor
Sold the SSR
Well it finally snuck up on me. I had just about 100K on the odometer and she was still running great, but since I moved to Florida 2 years ago my SSR has been my daily driver. That was wearing on me a little, always being "careful" where I parked, trying not to go out if it was raining and especially not being able to go out with friends and use my car.
So last week, out of the blue I was driving by a Dealership near here and noticed they had a very clean 2008Caddy CTS on their lot. Long story short I made them an offer they couldn't refuse and for very little $$ we made the trade.
So I now have a ride with 1/2 the miles of the SSR A warantee again, and room for 5! Plus I don't have to worry about where I park because although I like this car to me it is just that, a car I don't love it.
I will still be hanging around the website for fun, and to help out if I can. And I will still show up at some SSR functions to see old friends. I plan to run the Caddy on the Daytona Speedway with you guys.
At some point I will probably regret selling my SSR but if it gets too bad I suppose I could buy another. I hope all understand my motivations and I hope my Granddaughter decides to forgive me sometime soon ;0)

Your loss is going to be someone elses gain. I am not sure the 100k issue is that great but I know that it is a big thing when it comes to making a trade.
You know we will all be happy to have you around and the Caddy will add a touch of clash (as long as it hang in the rear) to any run you attend. Still looking forward to meeting you and as you said, you can always get another.

Whoa! That's the last thing I expected to hear today Dan! I get it though. As long as you still hang around here and come to the Florida events I will forgive you...

Thanks everyone For your kindness. It took me by surprise too, a kinda spur of the moment decision, I really was not out to trade. In fact I gave the dealer such a low offer I didn't honestly think he would accept it, but he eventually did! :0( / :0)
You all have become such a part of my daily life, I will still be here regularly. See you at the track Annie if not before.
Dan

Love to see you at the 4th Annual Florida Rally in March but you can't run your Caddie on the Track.
Only SSR's Track Rules.
Stay in touch, my New England Friend.

I ran my Caddy with the SSR's and a Corvette at Watkins Glen.
Of course the Caddy was the fastest thing on the track for those three laps.
Is this the Daytona Race Track rules or Mr. Taters make um up as you go rules.

OT: back in the 60's I was living in Germany while my dad was stationed there with the Canadian army.
One weekend I was in Zandvoort Holland with my 1957 Opel and found my way on to the Zandvoort race course at 3 AM after the bar closed.
Good thing no one saw my lap it was slow

Sorry to hear it Dan. But I have to admit it has recently crossed my mind too. I kep thinking that I need something a bit less practical, like a vet! I'll have it thru Daytona, and the loss I'd take always backs me up.
But ya never know!

Did you still have the graphics on the side and a spare with a hard cover? Think we saw it on I75 in Gainesville yesterday - found a good home already.
Poppa......enjoy the Caddie. I know I loved mine. I will hope to see you at future events. You are still on my contact list and you know I love the emails..doc
