Received this sad email from Pete/Linda, SSR Father this morning.
Our grandson, Anthony, has Spinal Meningitis and is in the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville . They have done a spinal tap but I have not yet heard what strain of Meningitis it is. He has high fever, vomiting and blood in the stool. Because of his compromised immune system, his condition is quite serious and he is in ICU. Please help us pray that he comes through this with no complications. Thanks,
Pete & Linda
All my Prayers are with Anthony in this time of need.

Hello all, thank you all for the prayers, they are working!
Anthony is responding to the medication and is getting better. Thank the Lord.
A picc line IV, which is a long term IV and Anthony has had about 9 in his lifetime, was put in this afternoon. He may be released within 24-48 hours. The Picc line will stay in until Sept. 9th. Now, he must get up and start moving..will be difficult at first, but will get better. The effort of moving does exhaust him, until he builds stamina and headaches go away. The plans are to release him soon to home health care. Laurie has gone back home but Frank is still with him. Thank goodness the danger has passed.
Again, thank you for your prayers and concern.
Pete & Linda - have not been on the SSR site for a couple of weeks. Just read about your grandson - glad to hear he is better. We will lift him up in our prayers as well!!

Haven't been on here in a while either until a couple days ago. Linda, thanks for keeping us informed via phone and email. Be sure to let Anthony, Frank and Laurie know we are keeping them in our Prayers.

Glad to hear your grandson is better
We've been having computer problems ever since we came down to Florida (Aug 26), so I haven't been on the site. I think they are finally fixed. So sorry I didn't know about your grandson's illness, but we will keep him in our prayers for a speedy and full recovery.
Joan

We went to Grandma's BBQ yesterday and many people asked about our grandson Anthony. For those of you who did not see my former post, Anthony is doing well. He has recovered (thanks to your prayers). He is back at school and back surfing. His headache and backache took a while to go away, but he is finally back to normal. I have always called him my bouncing ball because he does bounce back from all his ailments.
Thank you all again for your prayers and concern. Love you all . . . .
