Dick..tator,
I am looking forward to meeting you. I have heard much about you, and it is only the bad stuff I am sure. :-)
Anyway... I could hold a tech session here. We are new to all this, but are looking forward to getting involved with the group.
I have a garage, air compressor, tools.. (well some anyway) and some air tools. I only have a small floor jack and no ramps. But if we could come up with those tools, we could have a good time here.
Since we are new, I really have no idea exactly what to expect. But if 10 to 15 cars attended, we could have 20 - 30 peeps, we could do that. I have not run this by my wife as of yet, but I know she will be game, as she can't wait to meet some permagrins.
Just lemme know ok?
OK, Charles, As they say "Open mouth, insert foot". I would LOVE to do a Tech Day in Coral Springs!
I have:
1. Muth Mirrors, see thread. $195. installed
2. Center Blinking Brake Light #28. installed
3. Soundproofing for doors/roof compartment. $45. installed
4. Soundproofing for roof compartment vents. FREE & installed
5. Steel Radiator supports from Mike in AZ $178. installed
6. Ignition Switches and install $30. installed
7. 5" Stainless Tips from Mike in AZ $140 NOT installed
8. Mole Skin for tinted windows. $10. per SSR installed
9. Stainless and Brushed Air Dams from JimBob/Cailf. $60. Brushed/$70. Mirror Finishes
10. LC32 Cross Member Support, see Thread. Have not got cost yet to me from Calif. Depends on Freight Cost.
11. Frame Stiffener from Mike in AZ $235. installation instructions and help.
Now Mirrors take 2 1/2 hours to do with two people, which is the longest time for any upgrade.
The WeekEnd of Nov. 13th is Fantasy of Flight Rally near Lakeland but the follwing weekend it OK.
My SSR: #115321-05 Redline Red Born:9/17/2004, My Adoption 6/20/2010: Automatic, Flowmasters, K&N
I'm in North Port about 45 miles away. I would be interested in items 2,3,4, and 8 for install on 20 November. I would also "volunteer" as a guinea pig install of Mike's spare tire kit if there was interest by others of seeing it done, will assistant by someone, other than me, qualified in the install. Pm me if there is enough interest and I'll put the date on my calendar.
Thanks, Carl
Note that Charles said Cape Coral not Coral Springs as DicKtator said!!!!
Hey everyone.
Yes, Carl is correct, Cape Coral. BUT that is closer for you Dicktator, than the springs version across the state.
Ok..
Got the calendar marked. So it will be Saturday November 20, 2010. Sunday if needed??
Please advise time to get out of bed that day. .. Kidding of course.
But now that we have a date, we just need the time. If someone could lend a floor jack, it would be beneficial. I only have a small one that does not lift very high. If needed, I can look into renting one for the day. But with one jack and some ramps, we could get everyone's hands out of their pockets.
But in time I hope to chat with some of you as to expectations here... and time frames.
Personally I would like 4 (sound proofing roof and vents), 8 (mole skin), 9 (brushed air dam), and 11 (frame stiffner).
Thanks now, and look forward to more from you soon.
My good wife assumes that the ladies will join and if not working on R's can visit around the pool. Bring suits if you so wish. My wife (Ursula) tells me she is looking forward to meeting with you all too.
So, even if there is not excessive tech work to be shared, we can still swap some lies and sip something cold. Maybe even a snack or two.
Charles
Is it worth a call to Jeramy to see if he is interested? He has done my SSR and I am sure he has done yours Dicktator, but is there anyone else. That guy sure is knowlegable and practical. Man what a differance he makes to the R!!!
We, Jeff, Ed, Tony and myself were at Jeremy's Garage last week. Jeff had his tuned, he can now "Smoke Tires", Ed had his tuned for the first time and you should have seen the "SMILE".
I will check w/Jeremy but he needs at least 3 tunes to justify his trip.
Hi Dick...
I'm definitly intrested in this day...
I want #5, the steel radiator support...could you please tell me Dick, or a picture of the #6 Ignition switch, whats #8, the mole skin for tinted windows, and #9 stainles & brushed air dams...I'd really like to see those...let me know where to send you the check...
Thx
John

4. Mole Skin for tinted widows, without, your tint will get scratched
5. 100% 5" inch Mike's Stainless Tips.
Thanks Dicktator,
that list looks great! Want a check, pay pal, or what?
Dick, is it ok to post my address here, or you want to send that out privately??
Thanks Dicktator,
You got it..
9AM it is...Man I may as well just not go to bed, hey? LOL
Oh, one question. Do we not need jacks and ramps for the frame stiffner?
But to remove the cross member and install this, would it not be easier to be up off the cement?
I am looking forward to assisting with the key lock. So far so good, but best touch wood. Or in this case a new, spare ignition lock?
Also hoping that we may have time to view the lift motor for the power top. Sounds like that too will need attention some day. Anyway, we will see how times flies.
We will have the coffee and tea on. For those attending. Even if not getting work done, you are welcome to join us, just please inform us before knocking on the door.
address is:

Here is some info on the Frame Stiffener from Mike in AZ. Mike is sending me some Frame Stiffeners that should be here by Nov. 8th.
I found it to be a great addition for eliminating squeaks, rattles and improves handling considerable.
03/04 and early 05 do not have pre-drilled holes for mounting the Frame Stiffener in the front, have to drill holes. It is not a hard install, just hard to get to with out a lift. Jack stands will work and ramps are OK also. LIFT is BEST.

2. Remove X brace under engine
3. Drill holes, if needed, for front mounting.
4. Jeffanatic installing screws (provided) torques to specs.
5. Installed
If you are installing fans, I have just received them from Mike hoping the dealer would install them for an overheat problem but it was heater hoses so they would not install them as they are after market.
If possible the mole skin, sound proofing 3&4 as well as the mirrors. I have found the unheated Muth mirrors at

1. Muth Mirrors, heated $195.- installed - 3hrs
2. Soundproofing Door and Roof $45. -installed -1 hour
3. Mole Skin $10 - installed -40min
4. Fan - Mike in AZ- install - 35min.
FRAME STIFFENER INSTALL - IF we can get under the SSR's easily, we can do the install, if not, you may have to take it to your local shop for installation. Much,Much easier and faster on a lift.
Alex, Largo05ssr, is coming to help with instructions. He has a lot of experince and I THANK him for coming.
I also had Mike send me the lower radiator support bracket which is something I can install.
At the Pike's Peak Rally I bought a flasher for the brake light from Mike for . I can take the panel off if someone can connect the wiring. . had one installed at the Kerrville Rally.

Hey there!
Thanks for the organizing Dicktator.
Looking forward to seeing everyone then..
CAPE CORAL..
Now question for all?
How many coming? We, (my wife and I), wish to provide some burgers, dogs and tator salad. Not sure about what else may show up in the kitchen, but my wife reqests number of attendees. Just how many burgers, dogs and spuds for the salad.
Thanks in advance. Again, she is hoping that some others join their spouses for the fun and games here.
Charles. AKA.. Gadgetman.
I have been the gadgetman for many, many years of computing. One of my hobbies as well. Building and selling computers.. Been known to fix them once in a while as well.
BUT if gadgetman is available, I will stick with that. Did a search and didn't find anything so must be a keeper.'
Now looks to me like the gadgetman is gonna start with gadgets for the R.
Mrs SLAMMER will be out in Colorado with our hound who is on her last 3 legs. Eris, a 100 lb. Rhodesian Ridgeback, has a neurological spinal injury and hops around on her 3 good legs. We hope she makes it through the winter but she is already beyond her average life span for that breed.
It is possible that my nephew may be with me but will not know until short notice.
Thank you so much for hosting at your home
