This past Saturday, Jeremy Formato of FasterProms Tuned and Ported my SSR….. The car is running GREAT The power delivery band has expanded significantly into the low and midrange, were one uses it the most….It has gained an unbelievable amount of power and torque in the low to midrange….The car is now far more responsive, lively and fun to drive….
Jeremy ported my Throttle Body, removed the MAF Screen and reprogrammed my ECM with his custom tuning settings….
Our cars are drive by wire; our gas pedal is not connected directly to the throttle, but rather to the computer…When we press down on the pedal, the computer reads pedal position, and accordingly manages the engine to deliver power…. The Factory ECM setting, Dials up the power gradually, ramps it up, as to make the vehicle easier to control…(But Less FUN)……Obviously some Lawyers played a part on how the vehicle is tuned from factory… Tuning the car to deliver power on command bypasses the factory ramp settings and instead of dialing up the power gradually, the computers now manages the engine to give you the power on command….WOW
If you have an Automatic, same thing with the shifting… With factory setting, the computer shifts like Grandma ….With FasterProms settings the cars shifts like a serious driver would…..
Be WORN, that the car can become a handful under aggressive acceleration, for instance second gear shifts with traction control off, under aggressive acceleration produce enough wheel spin to provoke the car to fishtail at over 30 miles per hour…..Yupieeee….
The recalibration of the cooling fan setting makes for a much cooler running car…
In short, if you want a faster, more responsive and more fun to drive Roadster, this is the thing to do…..It’s not only how much power you gain, but how it’s delivered that makes such a great difference….
Thank You Jeremy

Those concerned with high coolant temps - factory fan settings are adjusted to come on as early as 180 degrees F and typically the vehicle never reaches over 205F. The hotter the coolant temps the more the computer takes away spark advance lowering the performance, throttle response, and fuel mileage.
The factory tune / program has very conservative timing curves and a typically rich fuel curve. There are many electronic throttle torque limiters and down shifts are typically very poor form the factory - we can adjust all of these and keep the truck in its power band. We can firm up the shifts and quicken them as well. Many automatic SSR owners have complained about the vehicle not being in the "right gear" when accelerating heavily. We adjust that to be much more aggressive under heavy throttle and will correct that issue.
Manual Trans owners have fuel and spark delays as well as torque limiters that curb overall performance. I would like to give you the full potential of the motor and you use it how you desire.
When porting the SSR's throttle body you will feel greatly improved throttle response and in the bottom end and mid range with a strong "seat of the pants" gain. There is a very large lip that shrouds airflow up until about 50% throttle, we remove this and you will get much more airflow at lower throttle positions. Many liken the difference to taking about 350lbs out of the vehicle. It truly makes the truck much more fun to drive. There are many out there that can testify that the ported TB made a huge difference!
The cost of a street tune is $300 w/ Wide Band o2. We work very hard on each and every vehicle until every customer is happy and the vehicle is spot on.

We have two signed up for Mirrors and as you know, it takes about 3hrs to do mirrors and soundproofing per SSR.

Sunday
Dick, I am in going to the Daytona show on Saturday. If I come down on Sunday do you think you will have time to install mirrors and blinking taillight. Also do you take the door panels off to install mirrors? If so, I might as well have soundproofing put in them also. Thanks, Walter
Fortunately I have an extra set of mirrors and one Blinking tail light available.
I do not have any extra soundproofing, so if you want to do this let me know right away.
There will be a Tech Day in Pittsfield, Mass. on Four of July weekend. We can do it then.
