Cool TURKEY RUN Nov 27-28-29-30, 2008

I just received the registration form for the Turkey Run, Thanksgiving weekend, Nov 27-28-29-30. Are we going to see if they will let us in as the "SSR Fanatic Club" or are we beating a dead horse? They are allowing a few speciality built cars in but not the SSR's. If we are not, I am going to pay the $90 and put my R in the car corral with a sold sign on it. I did it last year. It would cost $60 to walk in for the two of us so for $30 more I get a great parking spot!! We only go the first two days and than hit the beach!

I didn't get mine yet, but we have registered Sinister for the past 2 years and will try again. We can try registering as a club - all they can say is no, right? Also after looking at the list of vehicles entered last year I was wondering if we could get in easier if we registered as "Chevy Pickups" - they had a lot of late model pickups registered, I think they're just prejudiced against SSRs.

Chevy pickups is a clever suggestion for registration.

Angry

The flier states under Show Car Rules, "show cars must be 1979 or earlier. Cars 1980 and newer must meet certain criteria and be pre-registered." You have to have 2 or 3 custom/modifications to get around this rule. Only on Sunday do they allow the non-modified 1980 and newer vehicles in. Sunday I am on my way home! It is their show!
