Thought I might pass along a little public service announcement.

For those travelling on I-4 Saturday it is likely you will either come through Lakeland or around it on the Polk County Expressway. While Lakeland is not known for being a speed trap town my suggestion would be to be aware of the speed limits.

Normally we will drive down I-4 on the high side of 70 mph. The Polk County expressway has either a 60 or 65mph speed limit, depending on where you are. Lots of folks come barreling off I-4, realize they are still on a nice four lane divided highway without knowing the speed limit has been dropped. Normally they are the ones who get stopped. There is at least a 50/50 chance there will be a state trooper someowhere in the area.
