Twice this week, while cruising around, I have been stopped by people asking if my truck was an '09. They said they had never seen one before and that it really has class. Then yesterday at a picnic, I was talking with a lady and she said "is that your truck?' I said yes. She then talked about how every time she sees me around town she calls it the Holy $hit truck after having seen the commercial. I thought this makes for our trucks really being unique and classy.

Last week, I drove my SSR top-down to a local store. Inside, 2 guys working there asked me about my vehicle. One didn't know what it was, and the other knew it was a Chevrolet. One of them said, "So that's a NEW one, right?" I said no, it's a 2003. They both were shocked and said they thought it was an '08. I gave them a brief history lesson on SSRs and left with a big grin on my face as well as on theirs.
I had a guy yesterday at the gas station say "that's an 08 right?" I said nope, it's an 03. His face went !!
When I said it was an '04, got the same reaction. They also are amazed that they only made so few. The one guy said it reminded him of one his old Chevy trucks he used to have back in the day when he was much younger. I said

We are always "grinning" just like our beloved trucks. I also see other people with the same grin. so cool. Happy trucks, happy drivers and riders.

I'm just back from 1,800 miles of interstate driving in the R and never saw another throughout the whole trip! Very unique vehicles we have.
I am finishing a 1400 mile trip on my Harley tomorrow and with the Navy Paint scheme it has on it...I too get tons of looks and questions. It is the being different that makes people look.

Last week I was crusin the interstate when a car I was behind slowed down and moved over to the fast lane. As I passed in the slow lane the passanger window rolled down and the passenger started taking pictures as I went by.

Same thing with me here in the Poconos. We have so many tourists. I just flash a smile right back.
I dont know if any of you are familiar with what is known as a "Duck tour", Ive never actually seen them anywhere else. Anyway, basically its a large, vehicle thats essentially a mix between a large bus, a boat, and a trolly. It gives a full tour of town, and then goes on a local lake or two for a little while.
Well, I was sitting in the turning lane at a red light, and one of these pulls up next to me with a fairly large crowd, the driver - using the PA system - started asking me questions about the truck, and he even tried to give me one of his passengers. He pretty much made me part of the tour. It was pretty cool.

I have been on the duck tour there in Hot Springs. I love going there. It's cool you were part of the tour.
I got back from Colorado Springs, Sunday evening. I only saw one SSR the whole trip. I saw a yellow one in New Mexico on the way home. I got excited and pointed there is an SSR.
My SSR: U.V. with "flame" rally stripes, loaded incl. spare tire, CORSA Sport, MPD boards, Wester's tune
love at first sight
the people that just have to ask "what is that?", seem very disappointed when they hear that they're not made anymore.
We actually got a chance to talk to an SSR owner yesterday when we pulled up beside it, and we were in ours
this past monday at the stoplight with my top down a couple of guys said nice truck and how fast have you had it. i said thanks i appreciate that and i try to keep it under a 100 and they said i understand that don,t need to get into any trouble...then the light turn green and i said talk with ya later..
