120 MPH / I'm GUILTY

Nice sunny day today. So I just thought I'd take it for a spin. What a spin.
Did something I haven't done in a long long long time.

It was a first for this SSR; it's never been past 100 before.

120

It was effortless and just climbed with ease.

Then I backed off and yes there was more speed to spare.

Ya can't get away with that (120mph) in California, I know, I tried it. Came up on a white (Stealth) Camaro Highway Patrol. He even pulled over to let me go by him......OOOooppp's...... Too Late. He only wrote me up for 77mph but I never complained........ Not a good feeling getting cought.

I used to watch that CHiP-y in the White Camaro every morning on the way home from the Hospital. They never see him coming

Good for you G-Rob! Did you do it while topless?

Did the same thing last night coming home. Been a crappy week with my Father in the hospital, we got him home on Friday, (Everything is OK) and I need to blow off some pressure. The road was empty and straight, so I said what the heck.
This was the frist time I have done this since I had the tune and gears installed. The speed climbed so fast, I did not really know how fast I was going untill the T/C light came on.
Feel much better now.

Nope, no top down today. Just a little too chilly. On the stretch I was on there was nothing in front of me and nothing in back that was even close or that could keep up. Four lanes and nothing even close and I hit 120 so fast I was amazed. If I get stopped I think I'd be OK.

Stay safe so your father doesn't have to go and see you. I forgot all about the fact that the T/C cuts off at a certain speed. Please refresh my memory; I have CRS. What's the speed?

Must be in the stars .... I took her out first time in 5 weeks, just to warm her up and keep the battery fresh. After she was warm I did a slow steady climb till that TC flashed on ... I had forgotten about it also.

That would have been Friday afternoon while in primer.

While in primer? Does that mean you're in heat ( I mean paint )?

By the way what is the T/C cut off speed.

Read somewhere that the tires are rated for 120mph so I assumed it would kick off at 120mph, but it didn't.

You are so lucky

and I hope you know that. I live a short distance north of that construction cancer called Metropolitan Atlanta, with it's gazillion people who drive around all day and night, and do so while talking on their cell phones, reading the newspaper, eating snacks, and putting on make-up (the men, too, apparently), and oh, the latest fashion in development is "active adult" communities, which means our roads are full of tottering old folks who alternate between driving 35 in the left lane and 75 mph in the right lane (and that is just in the subdivisions)...so I doubt that I'll ever have the chance to safely go over 80. It sucks. I need to take a trip out west, I guess.

Talking Just a little bit faster!

I've run mine up until the chip cuts the power on the engine at 126 mph about a half a dozen times now. The H rated tires are supposed to be good to 130 mph so the chip saves you by cutting the power off.

You should do it again sometime and go just a little bit faster.

(Of course, I don't recommend that anyone should drive that fast.)
