Which 5" tips to install?

I've got to choose.

I was planning on installing the 5" bosal I purchased from Mr Yat. Simple Engineering had another tip that I thought looked cool. I was going to wait to install after the Laughlin run (I figured I would see both). Mike sent me his set to compare. After looking at both, I really like the look of Mikes tips because of its angle cut tips which matched the original. BTW, Mike great to work with.

Any comments or options on the two?

I have the Bosals on mine I like them but they are not stainless they are chrome plated they will rust as time goes by also if you need to expand them to fit your pipes be sure to cut the plating with a razor knife so it will crack where you want it to.

I liked Mike's tips better than the bosal once I'd seen them both up close...will think about putting them on after/when installing new exhaust.

I'm not crazy about my 5" bosal. They are a pain to keep from rusting. I should have gone with stainless from the beginning.

It's all in your preference. I like the stock tips on my 05 but installed the 5" bosal. They look really cool filling the space left for 5" and they have a really nice rumble.

Thanks for input

Installed Mikes tips. Liked the angle cut that matched the original and was worried about the rust on the Bosal.

Now I have a set of Bosal to get rid of

The Bosal tips have a rolled lip with an unfinished inner pipe AND are chromed (with the stretched edges still showing) AND are a straight cut. Mike's tips win on all counts, plus they stay very cool because of the open construction at the forward end.

I have no idea how the prices compare. Luckily I didn't have to pay for mine. They were free with Mike's exhaust.

I don't think you'll see a significant sound difference between tips if you're staying with the stock exhaust.

What rust? I've had the Bosal's for 6 months or so and they are great. They're real heavy duty, look great in the rear facia and give the truck a very nice rumble without having to buy a new muffler. Keep them clean on the outside and a once over on the inside with some 000 steel wool about every six weeks or so and they will always look like new. The cheapest mod I've done and the most bang for the buck.

I installed the Bosal before I found out about Mike's. I keep the chrome tips clean with some 'no fume' oven cleaner. Waxed with Rejex. (use it entire SSR) Rejex was originally for painted surfaces on Aircraft where exhaust hits it. RejeX: Nothing Sticks but the Shine!
They stay beautiful. If the chrome starts to look bad then Mike will have another sale.... This photo shows the tips and Sonny's Scull decal. House of Flames. I was Preparing to secure after positioning. Looks cool when backup lights come on - or at night with tag light.
