Mike in Az. has talked to Bevan's son in law and it has been suggested that if you are thinking of being there to say your good bye's to Bevan and show your support, they prefer the SSR group come ot the funeral.
The will be holding a service for Bevan,
May 15, 2008, Thursday
9:00a.

I am currently planning to go. I'd like to get a list of SSRs together, a couple of meeting points and times - so we can all roll in together at about 9 AM.
Some of our So Cal gang are eating dinner in Santa Monica so we'll probably not hear from them for a little while.
Ok, took a look at google earth. There is a large parking lot at the northwest corner of Fred Waring Drive and Deep Canyon Rd. Let's shoot for meeting there at 8:30. Once we collect everyone, we'll go less than a block to the service.
Lloyd and I plan on attending the funeral services. We are leaving Farmer Boys on Haven at 7:00 a.m. and if anyone wants to meet us there or anywhere along the route to Palm Desert, just give us a PM. We'll meet you at 8:30 at the designated meeting corner.

Update on Bevan
with the one he loved.

Thanks for your beautiful email.....it all happened SO suddenly.........so shocking, so sad.....I have a big hole in my heart and it hurts so bad.
We had left last week for NCAA Regionals in Sacramento to watch Angie's team..he was SO proud of them...even purchased brand new uniforms for them just for regionals...they wore them their 2nd round on Friday (which he was able to see)...
it was that night...when he passed away......we had gone back to the hotel (in Sacramento) after dinner, went to bed around 9:00.........laid there and talked for a few minutes, he told me he loved me and I told him as well as we did EVERY night...he gave me one last kiss....then he rolled over and took his last breath........when I realized it seconds later, I called the front desk, told them to call 911 as I started CPR....he came back for a second but then was gone....Paramedics arrived within minutes, rushed him to the hospital only a few miles away and began working on him....for 30 minutes to no avail.......
Angie arrived at the hospital shortly after we got there then her asst coach brought the team shortly after we received the news. They were all in tears, said they were going to wear their new uniforms again and make ribbons to wear in his memory..they would play round 3 for HIM. And that next day, the starter announced before each group teed off that each "Bulldog" player was playing in memory of Bevan.....they had their best round of the tournament that day!
My hearts aches so badly, but I do have my wonderful girls and
son-in-laws (one is a son-in-law to BE next month....Angie's fiancé) taking the best of care of me....wished he could have made it till the wedding June 20th, but wasn't in the plans......
we all arrived back home today........tough to walk into the house but TRIED to prepare myself during the trek home.........didn't work so well!
Long road ahead but God's plan and I will survive with my beautiful family and friends!
I love you! Thanks for your love!
Smokey

I wish I could make it but... a mandatory meeting that day and last minute vacation is not available. Will have all in my thoughts. Condolences to Smokey and family. I know how hard this can be.

You'll get what you've always gotten.
Attended the service this morning with a few other fanatics. Smokey was touched by our presence.
Bevan's SSR was there so we took a couple of pictures.
