Last Friday GM’s Craft Centre plant built the 24,150th Chevrolet SSR retro hotrod pickup. The Trailblazer-based SSR had been produced for three years at Craft Centre but never caught on much with consumers due to its lack of practicality for a truck and, at least initially, the lack of available grunt from its standard 5.3L Vortec V8 and four-speed automatic to get the thing going. The latter was remedied when Chevy began offering the $40,000 truck with its 400-hp, 6.0L LS2 V8 and a six-speed manual.
Much of the design and production of the SSR was handled by convertible and engineering specialist ASC and then handed over to GM’s Craft Centre.

RIP SSR
It was Friday, March 17th 2006 when the last two SSRs numbered 24111 & 24112 ceremoniously rolled off the assembly line.
The SSR had made for 4 MY (Model Years) 2003-2006.
My SSR: Silver on Black Final Prod 6 speed #23387, Signature #23, Signature #12
Let's play nice.
New member, just joined us.
A lot of articles are not well documented as far as release dates. Something old could look like a new release to someone not familiar with the history.
I still talk to car guys at shows who have no idea the SSR is out of production.
Anyways, welcome to the Fanatics.
If you have an SSR, hope you're enjoying it. It's getting rarer by the day.

We all make mistakes on this place, heck I was responding to Post that I thought was current, but later I looked at the date they were posted. I responded to a post that was over a year old. Well I never liked the term NEWBIE but I fit the Definition at the time.
We like to Joke on this Forum so don't take some responses serious.
Just have fun.
