Stormproof covers are a piece of cake....... They are woven microfiber (not nylon) and let almost no moisture or dust through the cover and are the easiest of all to clean. I would stay away from the washing machine - - it's really hard on the microfiber.
This procedure works with
all of the outdoor covers....
1) Install the cover on a clean SSR.
2) Rinse down cover with hose.
3) Wash cover with mild solution of simple green.
4) Dry cover with towels and then let air dry for a couple hours.
5) Remove cover.
6) Go over SSR with quick detailer and be sure it is clean.
7) Turn cover inside-out.
8) Repeat steps 1-6.
9) Turn cover right side out and re-install.
Done.
If you have a brushed cotton OEM indoor cover that is full of dust, I would recommend that you install it on the SSR and use a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery brush to pull the dirt out of it. You need to do it first with the cover normally installed, then with it inside-out and then again right side out. This will drag almost all of the dust out of your indoor cover...... It's worked good for me for several years....
