I got the truck back from the paint shop yesterday afternoon. Are you ready for this, it took 2 weeks, put it in on Monday the 19th, got it out on Friday the 30th.
It looks great! In the shade it is subdued, but in the sun it really shows up.
The painter carried the flames out from the engine cover and fusebox cover onto the fender and down the hood, and out of the fender wells and back.
The down side, there is grey/white powder and clearcoat overspray that drifted into every crease, nook and cranny. It will take me a month with a long bristle brush to get it all out of the engine compartment.
The good news, I will have most of it cleaned in time for CRUISIN' THE COAST next week. We will daytrip again this year. It is only 50 miles to Biloxi. We will drive down the beach road and see a lot of cars on the way down. We plan to go down Tues. Wed, and Thrus.
I got a call yesterday from Gary M. for Ocala, Fl. He is proud new new owner of a Black 2004 SSR. He is really enjoy the truck, says it is fun just going to Walmart in it, all the comments, showing the truck and the questions. He is going to the GM show in Clearwater this weekend and then driving up to Biloxi on Monday to Cruisin' the Coast and will be there all week end. If you are going to be attending call me and I will give you his number so you can call him and meet up.
My cell number is 601-569-3131, home 601-749-2817.

The painter it truly talented, nice job and not over the top. Perfect. Greetings, Rob (Canada where in the next month we could use some flames, for heat!!)
