Cup Holder Found

For those who don't want to take their chances on the exploding cup holder - We discovered this -

at -

wait for it -

WalMart!

Wedges right between the passenger's seat and the console and nestles in right over the parking brake cutout. It's not pretty, but fairly stable and only infringes on the passenger space a very little bit.

Enjoy!

Don't need to drill a hole...the console button can be reached. I have one of these for phone, gum, etc as my console cup holders work just fine holding a 20 ounce espresso...either side.

The problem I found with the Walmart one during the Flagstaff trip was that it continued to work itself up, out of the slot, when someone is sitting in the passenger seat. Hmmmmm...maybe a hint the passenger needs to lose some weight

I was going to post this too after using it for a while now.
The button to open the console is easily still reached with this installed.
It's not super deep so really tall top heavy drinks might have wobble issues.
It does work it's way slightly out of the compression fit between the seat a bit if anyone sits in the passenger seat - regardless of weight. LOL
Not perfect, but decent and useful.
Given time, I think I can find a way to make it stay in place...

FWIw The passenger's built in cup holder has exploded into pieces every time we have ever tried to open it....it's like a jack in the box. POP!
