Does the SSR use metric or sae fasteners?

I'm picking my truck up in a few weeks and want to bring a few tools along for the ride home (2000+ miles).

Is the SSR going to be a mix of metric and sae fasteners? Are there specific size torx or any other odd tools I might want?

I'm not a pro mechanic but I like to keep a small toolbox with me in case something comes apart or falls off.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Should all be metric. GM converted the cars to metric just after the oil embargo and all the NEW DOWNSIZING vehicles were being done in metric. Don't knoe what the Truck guys did as back then they never talked to each other.

Comes apart? Falls off?
Not to worry... just take your cell phone and money.

Oh, and your sunglasses.

Metric, nose to tail

I haven't found any hardware that is not metric on the SSR.

Typical torx are 10, 15 and 20.

Your best tool is a cell phone and a list of the fanatics. A single phone call to one of us will get it on the forum and have the calvary on the way. We can also act as your internet look-up for the nearest support facility..... There are a couple lists of people who will drop everything to help you. You can go to Fuzzy's list or to the Pin Map and find a lot of fanatics that will help.

You can add my cell number to your list. I'll PM you with the number.

Forget the tools as you'll have a hard time dealing with it at the airport security.

Jeff's Right

You can't transport tools in the cabin of a commercial airliner. If you are taking tools, they will have to be in checked baggage.

Stick with the cell phone, take your GPS and guts it out.

Eric,

Don't forget a roll of Duct tape. Some of the members on this forum use it a lot.

But it is a good Idea to bring a few metric tools a small can of gas and a cooler of beer.
