Talking Engine Cover Grilles... things are winding down for those... but I'm feeling better!

It's been 8 years since the 2004's were made. The market for my 2003-2004 Engine Cover Grilles has really slowed up. I'm down to having only FIVE sets left with the Silver SS's.

I've decided to not make any more of them. They are labor intensive and expensive to make. And, they sell slowly these days.

I guess all good things come to an end. I see more and more of the "old timers" on the forum selling and trading off their SSR's. So far, I've resisted doing that myself. My 2005 Slingshot Yellow SSR lives a pampered life in the garage and isn't quit to the 14K mile mark yet. I never did get tired of the "perma-grin" yet and it's always a "head turner" everywhere we go in it. So, as far as I can forsee it... I'll be keeping it.

I'll probably keep making the rear sill plate inserts, the air cleaner housing inserts, and especially the under hood logo letters. I probably have a several lifetime supply of the air cleaner housing inserts. I made a mistake one time and had the laser guys cut me out a couple hundred sets I didn't need. So, those sit in a box unfinished.

One good thing is I had my left hip replaced in February 2011 and now I'm able to be more active. Unless someone has gone through it themselves... it's hard to explain how things "only" across the room 10 or 15 feet can seem like it's miles away. I'm just so glad all that is behind me. I was even able to take my son and grandson fishing for walleyes on the Lake of the Woods this summer!

The next project will be to find a good surgeon that's experienced in the new "Micro Endoscopic Posterior Discectomy" surgery. Here's an animation:

Micro Endoscopic Posterior Discectomy Animation

I had a nerve conduction velocity test done and some MRI's made recently. The reason why both of my hands and arms have gone numb and are tingling is that I have a pretty well severe compression of my spinal cord at C4-C5 and C5-C6 disc levels (middle of my neck). In fact, it's so bad I'm surprised that it can be that bad and still I'm able to function somewhat normally.

Anyway, that's my current project. Learning what's out there and who is good at it!

I hope everyone has a nice Christmas or "Holiday" and perhaps the New Year will be a good one for all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! & HAPPY NEW YEAR!
