Thumbs up Gmpp

Here is the information I recieved when I purchased a GMPP for another GM vehicle I own.

Dennis Fichtner

Fichtner Chevrolet

Laurel, Mt

406-628-4618, Ext 105

APPLICATION IS SIMPLE:

You may either Email me at gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com or call me at
406-628-4618, Ext 105. I prefer you do this application so as to keep errors
of misspelling names, addresses, cities, etc. You may call and speak with me
( I love speaking with all of you) but this just really works good for me.

Items needed:

Name:

Address: City
State Zip

Daytime phone number:

VIN:

Current miles:

Term, miles and deductible desired:

Your credit card number and expiration date:

We are pleased to accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

As requested, here is the information and pricing on the General Motors
Protection Plan.

About the plan:

As an independent new car dealer, Fichtner Chevrolet is authorized by
General Motors to sell the GM Protection Plan. We are offering the plan at a
significant discount without sales tax. This amounts to a discount of
several hundred dollars off the MSRP of the plan!

Major Guard is a policy of General Motors Corporation. Be very careful of
policies written by other companies that may no longer be in business when
you need them! There have been hundreds of these companies going broke in
the past. In addition, this policy is good at any GM dealership in the U.S.
and Canada. The vast majority of dealerships will not honor any policy
except those sold by General Motors. The GM Protection plan protects your
vehicle and assures that it is repaired to GM standards whenever necessary.
Second, the plan is completely transferable to subsequent owners of your
vehicle adding to the vehicle's resale value. The GM Protection Plan comes
with a money back guarantee of satisfaction. You get a full refund if you
cancel the plan within 60 days of purchase and no claim is filed. After 60
days, your refund is prorated less a small administration fee.

Major Guard provides 24 hour no cash needed towing and roadside assistance.
Major Guard will authorize towing or emergency road service for any
disablement of your covered vehicle, or will reimburse you up to $50 for
these expenses. Benefits include towing, flat tire service, battery jump,
out-of-gas fuel delivery and locksmith and key service. Major Guard will pay
the charge to rent a replacement vehicle whenever the new vehicle limited
warranty or Major Guard covered repairs require 2.0 or more manufacturer's
labor time guide hours to repair.

What does Major Guard Cover?

It's as simple as this: If it's not on the very short list of what's not
covered, IT'S COVERED.

WHAT'S NOT COVERED?

Maintenance services and parts, physical damage, glass, lenses, seal beams,
light bulbs, and tires. Components not installed by the vehicle
manufacturer. Bumpers, sheet metal, body panels and parts. Carpet, hinges,
trim, upholstery, convertible tops, molding and bright metal. Air and water
leaks, wind noise, odors, weather strips, squeaks, rattles, paint, rust,
carburetor, contaminated fuel system, exhaust system, catalytic converter,
brake drums and rotors, shock absorbers and batteries.

WHEN CAN I PURCHASE GMPP?

Any time as long as your vehicle is still inside the new vehicle limited
warranty, PERIOD. Major Guard time and mileage limits start on the same day
as you purchase the plan and from the odometer reading the day you purchase
the plan. Again, You may purchase the plan at any time but such coverage
must be purchased prior to the end of the new vehicle limited warranty of 36
months or 36,000 miles whichever comes first. It makes sense to return to
your selling dealer, but if you find it inconvenient to do so, you may use
any commercial repair facility, just refer to the Coverage Agreement for the
appropriate phone number to call for authorization prior to repairs being
started.

Major Guard can be purchased from any GM dealer. To save big dollars, buy it
from me here at Fichtner Chevrolet. Many dealers mark up Major Guard beyond
GM Suggested Retail Prices by several hundred dollars. We sell every plan at
a discount saving you hundreds of dollars!! Major Guard is honored
Nationwide and it doesn't matter where you buy the plan.

To read more about the plan and to view an actual policy please visit this
website:

Here's the skinny, Kirk

The best deal is the GMPP 60/40/9 (60 Months or 5 Years whichever happens first and 40K Miles with ZERO Deductible) for $1480 at the Chevy Dealer nearby. Also, unlike Fletcher Chevrolet, they offer 12 or 18 Months of Zero Interest payments if you're interested.

I sat down one day and checked 'em all and this one is turned out to be the BESTEST deal.

I got mine through GM Protection Plan - GMPP - Discounted Prices Online, Calculate Your Own Price on the General Motors Protection Plan!" last October. They had a special going and it came up less expensive than anywhere else I found.

check prices here GMPP Discounted Prices Online, Calculate Your Own GM Protection Plan Price

2004 or Older Vehicle

Dingbat,
Any plans for vehicles older than 2005 but less than 48K miles? I assume if the factory warranty expired the price for getting a new extended warranty is higher.

I don't think the GMPP is available if the factory warranty has run out. I did not do any research on the older vehicles because it did not affect me so I can't answer you as to what is available elsewhere.
A 2004 that is still under factory warranty can still purchase the GMPP

According to all of my research, Rcreechssr . . . the RETRACTIBLE HARDTOP on our SSRs IS fully covered on the GMPPs as it is not classified as a convertible top (the cloth type).

Wellllll, that is good news. Changes my mind about purchasing a plan. I was going by what I was told by the finance dept at a local Chevrolet dealer in San Antonio. Thanks to all for the good advice & tips.

Just an FYI, rcreechssr . . . when I was doing my research, a number of Independent Warranty Reps were either vague or uncertain about that very point while all of the GMPP Reps assured me the "Retractible Hardtop" was fully covered.

I never said it was. The statement was "A 2004 that is still under factory warranty can still purchase the GMPP". Most of them are out of warranty by now but there may be a couple that were purchased less than 3 years ago that would still be covered.
