Florida SSR

Well, 53wanab is officially a Florida truck! I regisered her last week and as luck would have it,my tag number was availiable so, i grabbed it and should have my permanent tag in a few weeks. So anyone in maryland who wants it,should be able to get it.The story is, when I was a kid, my dad and I got this 1953 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup. We restored it which was easier in those days because parts were available at the ealer still. Anyway, I was 15 and soon to get my learners permit. The truck was ready for me but we fell on hard times and my Dad asked if we could sell the truck. We got $300.00 for it which helped the family through. That was a nice chunk of money back then.
I got my drivers permit at age 16 and have been wanting a 53 chevy truck ever since.Fast forward to today, when the SSR's came out, I wanted one and since they are modeled after the 50's series trucks,I named her 1953 wana be or 53wanab.Thats' the story of 53wanab.

Way to go!

30 years ago, I also had a 1st series 5 window Chevy PU. It was stollen from me at that time. Ever since it has been my dream to have another too. 2 weeks 3 days ago, I was blessed to have a wife that bought me my 2004 SSR. Yep, PERMAGRIN is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!

Congratulations!!

53wanab & Bigmax 2004, both great stories! I have loved the 50's Chevy trucks since a friend had a mild custom 53 back in the early 1960's. It was painted a color similar to the aqua blur, only it didn't change colors in the sunlight.
