Fun Saturday Morning...
Have you ever just had one of those simply fun days… nothing planned but all sorts of fun adventures happened… Today was like that! Although, I wanted to go play… I decided to be sensible… run the usual Saturday morning errands. BORING! But when I woke up at 3am & couldn’t get back to sleep… I told myself… If I’m still awake at 5am… I’ll do something fun, like go to Donut Derelicts. Still awake 5am.. got up & got dressed & headed south to Huntington Beach. Easy drive… 35 minutes! Place was packed!! Lots of cool cars & trucks… as luck would have it, there was one empty space right next to the Chevy truck. Walked about taking pictures … had some great conversations along the way. People are so friendly at 6am as long as they have coffee!!

Stayed a couple hours… then took off…. Where to now…. Ummm … Art Show in the Valley…. Top down, tunes up, iced coffee… great drive! Some really cool stuff! Found this booth… great prints of buildings & cars from “yester-year”… lots of local landmarks… As I was going thru the prints…. I came across a print with an SSR!!!!!! WHAT!!?? Come to find out the artist was one of the 20 asked by GM to paint the SSR, Stan Cline. Got to chat with him a little bit, very nice man!! So although it wasn’t a Smokin Asphalt… I had to buy it A couple booths later, met this cool lady who works in metal… the pieces almost look like stain glass… interesting stuff… Talked to her about doing one of these with my SSR on it!!

Since it was starting to bake in the valley… took off for the coast… Kanan Dune to the Ocean… nice drive… but still looking for the Christmas run…
For a day that was suppose to be just a plain ol’ boring Saturday…. It turned out pretty cool! Think I’ll chill a nice bottle of chardonnay and enjoy the a/c

OMG Linda I've yet to see a Ford GT 40 driving on the freeway...how did it sound passing by ya....??? ...that is my dream car I love both the old and new styles alike.
