Talking Great trip from Des Moines to Denver.

I picked up my new (330 actual miles) 2006 SSR in Des Moines this week end, drove it back to Denver and I have perma grin! I was driving back like an old lady. I did catch two rocks, one on the step board and a small ding on the roof. The front looks perfect, go figure. Got on it a bit on Monday and was very pleased with the snappy performance. I have not figured out everything yet but that will come with time. What a cool fricken truck!

I would appreciate any info on gotchas that I should be aware of so I can watch for known issues.

Thanks

Patrick

Congratulation!
What part of the Denver area are you from? My in-laws live in Lakewood CO so whenever we're in the area, we'll meet up with the Colorado SSR owners.
Keep an eye on this link: Mountain - Prairie - Chevy SSR Forum as I'm sure you'll enjoy meeting up with the gang for various events.

Welcom to Fanatics - sounds like you're having more fun than should be legal already.

If you're interested, you can post the last 5 digits of your VIN on this thread.

Build Sheet Requests

You'll be surprised how quickly someone comes back with a complete build sheet, including birth date.

Warranty

I know you don't want to hear this after you laid some big jingle for your truck, but spend the money on an GM extended warranty. I did, two transmissions and a lot of other stuff repaired under warranty. Read the forum, a tranny repair will cost you over $4000.00 and no I didn't beat on either one. It will at least give you peace of mind even if you never have a problem. You should be able to get one for around $1,500.00. Lots of guys here can give you a good POC like Doophus, he hooked me up. Good luck with your new ride, that permagrin is great isn't it!
