How do i remove the hitch key tumbler ???

Someone said there was a post on how to do this

I have misplaced my hitch keys, put them somewhere so I wouldn't lose them

I checked the archives but can't seem to find the post

Want to take the tumbler to the locksmith

Damon - If the Hitch is off the truck, I would take the whole hitch to the locksmith. In looking for the keys, they have a redish cap on them and do not lay flat.

Supposedly, you remove the plug opposite to the lock along with the snap ring and then you can remove the lock mechanism. By the way use a ILCO 1611 or ILCO 1640/LD2 blanks.

check with the dicktator, alex or someone who has a hitch. i think there are only about 5 different keys for the hitches and theirs may fit your hitch.

Is there a number stamped on the casting or ??? that tells you the '1 of 5' possible key number??

did not see a number on the hitch. my key has a numberB02040 .

My keys says B02049.

I took my hitch to my local Locksmith.

He made two keys for $20.00

Locksmith didn't need to take lock out of hitch when he made my keys.

Same here . . .

I took my "keyless" spare hitch to the local locksmith and within less than 10 minutes and 10 bucks . . . VOILA, new keys.
