That's cool too. What about polished stainless bowtie covers for the front and rear bowties? I think a lot of us would like and want that, to cover up the gold color. Would you mind checking that out with him when you ask him about the hood blankets?

Thanks
I will email him and ask about that also. I'm thinking that due to the curvature of the OEM bowtie emblems that would be a problem. The laser will cut out the pieces from flat stock but then they would have to be domed. I know the piece of equipment he would need (from my 35+ years avocation as a jeweler). An air-domer. I don't own one either.

After I purchased the polished cutout Chevy bowtie I looked through more of what he's making and found these. I sent him an additonal $5.00 and I'm getting one as pictured. He also makes them in several other colors and will make them as custom combinations also.
I am also in the midst of emailing with him about the possibility of making laser cut stainless SSR underhood blanket letters. I will help him out in any way possible to bring this about.
Doc: Have you seen the laser cut SSR underhood logo that SSRCobra makes. I got mine two weeks ago and they are fantastic.

AMI Fuel Door
Well, I finally broke down and ordered out one of the AMI Billet Fuel Doors. I did a lot of surfing and price checking. AutoAnything.com is the cheapest right now and they guarrantee that for one year besides.
I went with the brushed, non-locking version for $84.95 and FREE shipping.

Forgive me for being old, but I read or heard somewhere about being able to obtain a Custom Air Dam for my SSR from Mike in AZ. Does anyone have information on how to contact Mike, or is there a website? Thanks.

Just send Mike a personal message (PM) via this forum. His user name is "Mike in AZ".
You can see a photo the air dam in Post #13 of this thread. I love mine. GREAT product! Blows away the embarassing simplistic, and ugly GM rectangular stock air dam. How could GM put such a piece on a truck with this many curves and great lines? Mike's air dam looks like it WAS designed to blend with this truck.

That is so true. After we pulled off the stock one, Wayne held it in his hands and shaking his head he said "what were they thinking?" Mikes looks like it belongs there

Front Air Dam/Spoiler by Ghostrider
I have the one made by fellow fantatic Ghostrider. It's fiberglass and not only looks great but works well. Just so everyone has a few choices, I'm posting some photos from his website. (May as well consolidate all these <$100 accessories here)
Hey, thanks for posting the photos of "Ghostrider's" custom air dam. Another GREAT looking product. I actually forgot about his. As you said, now folks have some choices.
Man, it looks like we got you cranked up on adding to this accessories thread. Keep it up, as I'm worried I may run out of ideas!
For those of you who like emblems, I ran across this brushed aluminum GM Performance Division emblem a while back on ebay (there are several still there.) This emblem is 2-5/8" long x 1/2' high.
Whether you personally like emblems or not, at least this one from GM shouldn't cause any interesting discussions like the small 1" square '06 GM emblems.
Man, I think I need another SSR....I'm running out of places to put stuff on mine. Still won't keep me from looking, though. I've been know to put stuff on and then take it right back off if I find I like something else better.

Yellercat Shimmers for the Chevy SSR sill plates
I emailed Jay and got a copy of the photos I'd sent to him showing the installed tailgate sill Shimmers. (These are WAY nicer than the ones I'd originally purchased from a guy on eBay.) I will first transfer my original post about these to this thread:
I ordered out a set of SSR Shimmers for the tailgate sill plate from Jay Harris. (I have the GM brushed chrome sill plate covers on both the door sill plates and wanted something nice for the back end too.)
Man! Are these ever nice! They are the best I've seen anywhere. Not only do they look nice, but they fit the areas intended for them perfectly. And, they are thicker than any I've seen so you really get the 3D effect. Mine have the four brushed chrome strips, two brushed chrome SS letters and the R is bright red.
I'd previously ordered some from a guy on eBay that didn't fit as well and were way thinner.
I just wanted to tell everyone that the SSR Shimmers made by Jay Harris are a high quality accessory.
You can contact him at: jay@yellercat.com if you need some made for your SSR.
The rear sill plate set was $70.00 including the shipping.
Thanks for posting the photos of the sill inserts. Man, they look great! I'm going to e-mail Jay for a set of inlays for my rear sill. I have the flat vinyl decal inserts, which is way better than nothing and also very reasonably priced, but I gotta have these!

SSR Valve Caps
Yep, those are a must have item for sure. I have a set on my SSR and an extra set in case I ever need them. Stuff like this is already getting hard to find. I can't imagine it ever getting any better. Especially for Genuine GM accessories such as these.
Thanks for posting the SSR valve stem caps photo.....real cool. You know, I'd forgotten about those myself. Even though I have some custom steel bullet shaped ones already (see an earlier post), I think I will get a set of these as well. That way one can easily change up from time to time if desired.....like a change of clothes. It's too bad they don't make a matching set of these caps for the inside door lock knobs.

I bet a guy could buy a set of straight sided chrome door lock buttons and without too much fiddling around could probably make a set using the valve caps.

Laser Cut Chevy Bowtie installed on engine insert
The laser cut stainless steel Chevy bowtie I ordered from "muffinbuster" on eBay (shown in Post #60 of this same thread) arrived today. I have it installed on my engine cover insert. I think it looks great!
He offers them in several combinations. You can get just the outline of the bowtie in polished stainless steel or in almost any color you want. They are also available with the center done in a contrasting color, polished or brushed stainless. I actually bought the polished stainless outline version first and then paid another $5.00 to upgrade to the red bowtie and polished stainless insert.
The photo doesn't do it justice at all as it's very difficult to photograph a mirror surface.
The bowtie addition to your engine cover insert looks great! I guess you were like me in thinking that the stock engine cover insert was begging for just a little extra touch.
I wanted to add photos to this thread of the underhood aluminum SSR logo that I just got from fanatic, "SSRcobra". I originally had the vinyl decals logo, which were fairly nice, particularly for the price (they are pictured in an earlier post in this thread).
However, this aluminum set of letters.....FANTASTIC! It's not often that a product exceeds MY expectations, and that's certainly what happened here. Obviously more expensive than the vinyl decals, but to me, well worth the money.
BTW, I did take "XSELER8's" advice about buying new trim push/pin fasteners for the underhood blanket, as the 5 existing ones tend to get "boogered" upon removal. The new ones I bought at Advance Auto Parts are larger in diameter than the stock ones. They come 3 in a package, so you'll need 2 packs. I also had the trim removal tool, which is extremely handy in removing the existing fasteners. I got it at Advance Auto Parts as well.
Below are some photos. The last photo on the right shows from left to right, the trim removal tool, the original stock trim fastener, the new fastener, and finally the packaging for the new fasteners.
