The door lock buttons are an easy custom touch - there are a lot of different styles available for older vehicles - dice, smooth, bright colors, etc.
I like the stock ones - keep in mind GM went out of their way to make them look like they did in the "old days" instead of the slides mounted in the armrests as they do in most everything else.

Yes, I agree that a lot of folks want to keep their rides totally stock. But cheap chromed plastic on a $40,000+ vehicle? Sorry, not me.....I like the "heft" and feel of cold steel. Even the stock style door lock knob in steel would have been just fine. Remember, not near as much use of plastic in the "old days".
I too am VERY glad that GM did not choose to mount slides for door locks on the arm rests. That way, it gave those of us who wanted to, another item we could personalize.
Here are some photos of the high polished stainless steel LS2 letters that I received and put on this weekend. These are the ones that fanatic, "DakotaDocMartin", first brought to our attention. The high polished look is very shiny, but doesn't exactly match the bright chrome plated look of the "SS" letters of the SSR logo. (Note: I have the exterior bright chrome parts package installed.)
I have another set of letters ordered, and I'm going to send them off to be bright chrome plated in an attempt to get a very close match up.
BTW, the contact for these letters is: Roger Neace (r.neace@insightbb.com). Total shipped price is $29.65.
Where do you get the Waterfall Logo and How much??
corvetteulose:
The waterfall badge is the limited edition one being offed exclusively my this forum. See post #23 of this thread and PM "Marc NY" to see if any are still available. Best $30.00 you could spend for an SSR accessory IMHO!

Original LS2 emblem is $60.00 = s/h - Your's is much more readable!
I have been looking for engine bay chrome pieces, master cylinder cover / cap, clutch cap/ cover, oil filler cap, fuse box cover ect. any help?
Tan Man:
I've been looking for a lot of those pieces myself. I believe the best possible sources are places that carry that sort of stuff for the C5 and C6 generation Corvettes. For me on all the caps, it's an all or nothing deal. I don't want bright chrome caps for just a few of them, if I can't have them all that way. Knowing what will fit and what will not is the problem. It might come down to just basic trial and error to find out.
Thanks for the link, my problem. Will they fit being for vette. Also kind of expensive for just caps and covers. Does anybody else have where to buy and will fit SSR 2006 thru 2004 Very interested in fuse box cover stainless or chrome. I may have to resort to making one out of Stainless.
I'm new and you would think some site offers engine chrome parts for SSR. I have not found one yet!
That's a good looking LS2 emblem. Where did you get it from.....and particularly for that price? It appears to have somewhat more rounded edges than the one I have (See photo in Post #36 of this thread). Also appears to have a more satin type finish. Probably like "XSELER8", I'm too embarrassed to tell you what I paid for mine. All I'll say is that you got a really good deal compared to me.
Plus, as I said in an earlier post, finding a relatively flat, suitable place for the emblem was more difficult that I thought. Heck, not too many flat places to be found on this "full of curves" truck of ours. But, who's to complain.....that's one of the aspects that makes the SSR what it is!

Yes, I still believe that the best chance we have are the parts for the Corvettes. Again, I could not get a definitive answer on fit up to an SSR from some of these suppliers that I checked with thus far.
As I said it will probably be trial and error. What I did recently at a Corvette Club cruise-in (all rides welcome) was ask one of the guys if I could check to see if his chrome window washing cap cover would fit over mine.....he let me try it, and it did not fit.
Bright chrome engine dress up parts are ususally never "cheap", so don't be surprised at the cost. Your best bet for some of the covers, might be as you say, a "homemade one", or getting a stock one chrome plated if possible.

Alex
I'm not telling ANYONE that I bought mine from Mid-America and paid $99 plus an arm & leg for shipping. That was for ONE badge. Nobody will ever hear about this. Even sicker...I'm not sure where to put it. It's still in the .03 little baggie. In an earlier post on a different thread I quoted Murphies Law. "Everything you buy will be cheaper(or on sale) next month".
ALEX......OUR'S HAS A NICER "L". Worth the $40. These will be collectables someday and will be museum pieces.

Cargo Net Option
I ordered the SSR Cargo managment net with crossbar from Ken Fitchner in Montana and picked it up on our way home from getting the Truck in Indy. The first time I tried to use it on a minor shopping trip with my wife I had stuff flying all over the box because the netting doesn't have sides.
After she finised laughing at my ineffective cargo net she pointed out that the one in her '05 Mustang convertible was much better. Didn't take me long to try her net on the SSR. It's a PERFECT fit. No flames for non GM parts please.
Part number 5R3Z*6355OA66*AANET ASY and it should be less than $50 at your friendly Ford dealer. Make sure you ask for '05 and newer convertible if you don't use the part number.
Comes with net, 2 anchor bolts and speed nuts. I did have to cut the anchor bolts down to the same size at the SSR "D" rings and use the "D" ring nuts that slide into the side tracks at the top of the cargo box.
Total install time less than 30 min and difficulty was .5 on a 5 point scale.
Now I can carry small packages and groceries with out spilling things all over the trunk.
Thanks for posting your way of dressing up the non carpeted SSR trunk. Pretty clever, and looks REAL good. Plus, it's very functional, being able to put it in or take it out if desired.
Seeing your "bare" rear sill of your trunk now tells me you need the real sill "Shimmers" domed decal inserts. See Post #75 of this thread with photos by "DakotaDocMartin". I got mine recently, and although they are relatively expensive for domed decals, they appear to be of fine quality and look REALLY good.
My SSR: 19608 Silver BOD 12/20/04 Purchased 11/04/05 Auto/Predator, Vet Servo
From ebay
Purchased this off ebay. Comes from a guy in Europe. I wanted all the lettering the same size, he made the date big. But I installed it anyway. If I remember right it cost $35. My pix has lots of glare, kinda hard to see the SSR on the left.
Heck. why wait. I've been "celebrating my birthday" for over 7 months now, and counting, since I bought my SSR.
Alex
Same here. I was planning on a Corvette next Feb. A 60th B-day present. Like my signature says. SSR - saw it - loved- bought it. Couldn't wait. Got an early present.
I should not post this here. This thread talks about INEXPENSIVE stuff.
BTW>>>>Fun thread Alex. Lot of good stuff. Thanks.
I got my second set of billet aluminum SSR logo letters this weekend. This product is originally designed and intended for installation on the underhood blanket. (See Post #90 in this thread for photos.) Again, for those who don't know, contact fanatic, "SSRcobra" via PM for ordering information.
I got the idea to mount another set of letters on the cargo area compartment lid from fanatic, "downshifter". I think this now compliments the logo on the underhood blanket really well. IMHO, it will look good for "show" purposes, when typically both the hood and cargo area lid are open.
The second photo from the left shows the flat sheet metal "washer", which one uses to mark the mounting holes. The letters have threaded studs on the back of them.

That was Frank talking about the SSR valve caps . . . yes, I was amazed at the e-bay price also ($30 ) . . . . pm Lloyd (lloger) for a great price on these SSR valve caps. I can't divulge the price either, as you'd be your eyes out . . .
AND, I've also got to say . . . WHAT A GREAT THREAD ! ! So many things to do, so little time and money.

I have to agree. The SSR net is pretty lame. We used it once. Instead of having two sides you create both sides by attaching to the tailgate and the crossbar.....I think. The factory instructions are barely legible. Maybe I didn't have the crossbar slid forward far enough.
